What if I buy half a grass fed beef from a local farmer and FREEZE the meat?

What makes you think cougars are eliminated? Non native wolves are invading most western states and grizzly populations are also increasing.

Packs of coyotes take down mature healthy deer, bucks and does, daily.

Get outside more and stop believing everything you read in National Geographic

You could do that, and it would certainly be a better option. I use to purchase shares of grass-fed beefalo, some sort of cow/buffalo hybrid, when I was part of a co-op down in FL. Now I'd rather not support the industry or kill those animals if I can help it, so I choose not to buy any. Haven't had any issues health-wise with the meat substitutes and most taste just like the meat they imitate.

I live on the lower east coast. Cougars and wolves were historically located here but were hunted out by our ancestors. Grizzlies are still bears, which are opportunistic omnivores, they aren't chasing down herds. Coyotes and wolves keep the balance in check, that's cool if you have them even though most people view them as threat to their hunting or livestock.

So if I use my Tacoma and happen to run down a deer, save it for the weekend BBQ, we should all be happy.

    Back to reality & Tacoma’s.

I’m going to disable emails from this thread, the fork in the road has taken too many turns, mine is for meat.

Oh cool, a bear running hundreds of yards parallel to a herd. I didn't see him get one, did you?

    You said chasing, sorry.

What about the bears that wonder through flats eating new born fawns and calves? Do they not count?

The internet. You can find anything to confirm or dispute any given thing. In fact, that’s how the flat earthers gained their absurd momentum. If you understand the natural order of things, there’s not really an argument, just as you know the earth is a sphere.

We are just arguing against absurdity and genetic weakness for sport.

Sure they do, bears are opportunistic. I just don't think grizzlies are the primary species to keep the population in check. I forgot to mention we still have bobcats too, but due to their size they're another species that usually preys on fawns.

Meh, I still think your “eliminated predators” is invalid. Just cause you don’t see them doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

I'm curious how a vegan justifies all the insects they kill on the road by simply driving a vehicle. The only way to not cause any death to an "innocent life" is by not driving a vehicle. The vegans that I know always say that all life is equal, so a cow equals a human equals a caterpillar equals a gnat. Not trying to be a dick, just curious how you justify it and where do you draw the line. Obviously it's going to be different for different people, but nobody ever answers the question that I've come in contact with. But look at the front of that vegan truck in the summer and it's gonna be covered in bug guts.

Well, you pick and choose where the cruelty line is based on how easily you can personalize the creature. For instance, an adult human with an emotional bias who has just seen the movie ANTZ is probably more likely to take action against the murder of insects.
