We drove coast to coast in the middle of last winter. 6000 miles, zero issues.

I got to set the cruise on 85 MPH in Montana on the way east. Drove through a lot of rain.

On the way back west we towed a trailer through a snow storm from South Dakota through western Montana. I was glad to have snow tires.

I did it twice in my 2004 civic coupe 5spd in ~2004 and then again ~2007. I moved to Seattle and then back east after a few years. Twas me and a good friend and we had it overloaded and stuffed to the gills on the way out. Then future wifey an me on the way back east. Both directions we had two bikes on top with a Thule carrier, the trunk was packed, and the rear seat was filled. The carrier had camping and daily shit in it. Overall, I have awesome memories of the trip and the little Civic did awesome. I highly recommend getting odf the beating path, we took ~8 days (one hangover break in Chicago :drunk:) to go west and ~10 days to come east.

I drove from Salt Lake City to Pittsburgh and then to Asheville, NC this past December. My truck exploded into a fiery ball of hydrogen and melted the entire state of Iowa.

Actually it was fine. I'm lifted on Fox 2.0s and some BFG 275/70r17s. Fuel economy sucks with E rated tires, but gas was dirt cheap at the time. Towed a U-Haul full of live edge slabs I finished at my parents house in NC back to Utah. No problems at all with the exception of expensive tolls in PA and Ohio. Not sure where that money goes, the condition of the roads doesn't reflect the $20 to drive through the states.

That brings up a good point: carry cash for stupid tolls in stupid states that haven't figured out how to automate tolling by mailing bills or whatever.

The tune is worth it for me. It still upshifts and gets lazy on the comute if you aren't in the gas but on the hwy it makes a world of difference with the truck actually holding gears. Before the tune at sealevel it couldn't hold 5 or 6 even going over overpasses or on windy days. The increased power is a lot of fun but it's not very useful unless you are playing around as it comes on above 4k rpm. I'm really looking forward to the SC from OV.

Hey, a truck from WA has to see what snow is some how, why not in MT!!

Only caveat I’ll give you is if you live in the cascades . :D
