It depends. Do you want to fit 35's or 37's ?

Just remember that the further you push the wheel/tire out, the closer you get to the cab mount when turning. Pushing the tire out too far can caus as much rubbing as not having enough offset.

Hmmm I’m only running a 2 in leveling kit, could I run 35s with a 1.5 in spacer?

I agree. I paid $95k for my cabin and it was only on 10.5 acres when I bought it. That house is on 19.86 acres. It's funny because half of that road is maintained nicely with a couple custom log cabins and the other half is like a trail at AOAA, rocky and a bit steep. This house is on the nicely maintained side so it has easy boring access to get in & out, but if you feel like having some fun you can take the other side in & out.

Are you willing to cut everything to make them fit? Fenders, cab mount, beat back the pinch weld, and still potentially rub?

Thanks for the help guys I’m brand new lol. I guess there’s really no way around a cmc. Was just going to let 4wp do it honestly when the time comes to get the bigger tires, my ko2s are fairly new but they’re a 265 75 16 and I’m not really feeling that... too small haha. I just really feel like something is missing. Could be because it’s an access cab and not the 4d but I gotta work with what I got. The headlights are super rough but I will have new ones on Thursday thank god. I’ve only owned the truck for a month.

It's still like that in WV but with old campers.

Lol not trying to discourage you. I know you want to go bigger, I'm running 295's on my 4r and am considering 37's, but I'm also willing to put a lot of work in it to make them fit. I just dont want to see somebody buy bigger tires and then have lots of issues. I would stick to the 285's and then work on upgrading the suspension before considering going bigger

I appreciate the help a boat load. I am willing to put the work in but at the same time don’t want to ruin it. Could I squeeze the 295s? And with the spacer ordeal, I just want some added stance, but not super overdone like the Instagram trucks lmao. Haven’t really seen anyone in person that I could talk to about Tacoma’s or have any first hand looks at.

Gotta love a place where you can do what you want, when you want, how you want. And if it feels good do it all over again :infantry:

Just to put it out there, I wanted to go for this look. Not crazy high, just big tires on a minimal lift. He’s running 35s on a leveling kit supposedly, never really responds to comments. Bad ass truck tho.

In all reality the 295's are only like a centimeter taller and a centimeter wider. Not really visually noticeable and a little harder to fit over 285's.

As far as cmc, it's hard to say if you will need one or not. I believe most 2nd gens end up having to get them for 285's.

As far as that goes, I can guarantee that either he did a lot of cutting to get those to fit or he rubs a lot. And also the 3rd gens have a different shape wheel well so it can be a little easier.

At the end of the day, you need to do what will make you happy, but to get there, you might need to put in more work, and you gotta be willing to do that too.
