Not sure about the new sealant you mention. Mine was around #80 so I still have the older stuff. I am waiting on the new aluminum tube, but had to take the old, original one apart because it was impossible to open because of the rust.

I have no idea about the front one. But, the rear one I just loosened the screws and tapped it a bit and the bar fell right out - easy peasy. I'm number 40 something so I don't have any idea about newer sealants. I can say that I moved it less than 1/2" - and maybe quite a bit less...

Removing the tube next to the cab appears to be a lot more intensive than the rear tube. Since the rear tube is only attached to the upper brackets you can knock the bracket out of straight a little without worrying about the bottom t-track shifting to break the seals. I just heard back from GFC and they verified that the new tubes will be more work to install/replace.

I originally attempted to take that one out and the hinge design requires you to remove both the top and bottom portion. I honestly don’t see how it’s possible because there is one screw inside the hinge area and literally no way to remove it without fully removing the top half. I asked for instructions a while back but have yet to receive anything. Mainly just happy I have the camper after waiting a year and being a preorder watching intafollowers get theirs months in advance. To be honest, if the issues continue there might be another on the market.

Are you guys sick of fans today?

I made a little progress on mine.

The 1/2” thick Foamed PVC is going to be my spacer for the inside and support to through bolt.
I stole your T-nut idea @STravis. Seems a hell of a lot better than nuts and washer on the inside. Plus they drove into that PVC real nice!

I’m planning on using 10-24 x 1 1/2” bolts but I’ll see if that’s enough once I get the Butyl Seal Tape on and squished and in the roof. :sawzall:

It will cover nuts on two sides but it won’t on the other two.
The shroud is a perfect square and the fan isn’t. It’s like 2” wide on one side and 1 1/2” or so on the other.

The shroud will be flush with the bracket and be 1/2” off the inside roof. I’ll just have to live with the nuts showing.

You could put the bolts closer to the center if you wanted then it would cover them. But I just went with the already marked holes in the fan for a wider footprint.
@STravis moved his towards the center.

I guess if I used these the shroud will cover all the nuts and I could cut down the bracket some.
I might do that. Even though I already drilled out the outside holes. Nothing some sealant can’t fix. Haha.

At least I haven’t drilled the roof yet I guess.

I'll get a picture of how much of it sticks down below either tonight or tomorrow night. It's not terrible. The shroud was a little tricky because it bells out towards the end and didn't fit perfectly. I'll order another shroud and do a little better job but as it is now it looks fine. But as far as mounting the fan directly to the 1/2" roof, there is no problem with doing so.

@ace7196 im just making the bracket for more support I guess.
I might even ditch it and just do what @STravis did. Not sure yet.

But I know what you mean by the shroud belling out at the end once you trim it all the way down.
I think I’m going to cut the part that fits into the fan vertically so it splits to give it more play.
