got the PV hard mounted finally, waited a month and a week for a few 8020 parts. one panel on the Prinsu rack. i reinforced internally all four corners. has five points of mechanical connection to the rack, three of which are hinges. decided to mount in fixed position rather than adjustable tilt.

yes interesting. looks like you have 'bed cap' of metal plate?
does the crack change with shell open?
IIRC, you added one extra screw and T nut. I had been thinking the utility rail flexed as well as body panel and composite bed, but never thought the aluminum joint would flex and stress. I'd be curious to know what AT think.

The "bed cap" you see is part of aluminum angle that mounts the habitat to bed rail. Crack doesn't change as far as I can tell. I did add an extra screw and t nut, because of the rear corner gussets. I'm pretty surprised myself with all of the gusseting my bed has. I should send an email to AT to see what they say about it.

    Mind posting a picture?

Hit Bethel Ridge again on Wednesday night. Really like it up there. Had 2 other rigs and 9 adventure bikes meet up with us on Friday and we all left for the Lion Rock area on Saturday morning. That makes 29 nights for us in the Habitat!

And I nearly forgot! First rig we saw driving by our campsite on the ridge was a Tundra with an AT Habitat. They stopped and we chatted for a few while their pups got a chance to stretch their legs and sniff our camp setup real good.

In the newer design the plate on the rear post comes off so it is much easier to run wires and outlets.

Bend the posts then apply liquid electrical tape to them and then wrap in tape.

In Feb the day after I picked up my habitat, I made the paracord closer with the hard balls from the bungees. Just bought a pack of several ball bungees on Amazon and 6 ft of paracord. This is by far the easiest way to close the habitat. I put a barrel lock at the end of the loop so I can tighten it to the habitat before I flip it over.
Try the hard ball and paracord method and you will never go back to a clamp.

Any reason why you didn't put the traction boards on the outside. If you ever have to use then they will be dirty and get your inside all dirty as well.

To be honest I don't really know anymore, I would consider what I do to be mellow but then I see pictures of people on "wheeling trips" and they are on bladed roads. Guess its pretty relative. I am 100% conscious of the fact that I have a ~350lb camper on the back of my truck, I don't drive like an idiot, I air down when conditions dictate, and I also don't go on designated "wheeling trips." Just do alot of traveling off highway when metal detecting, hunting, and fishing here in NV. Ill be keeping an eye on it.

Also I do have a properly setup suspension for the type of conditions I drive and the weight of the camper (TC +2 front, TC HD sua rear) which I would think helps tremendously in reducing stresses on the hab.

Yeah I hear you all matter of perspective. 350lbs isn't a huge amount of weight but its definitely felt... I've seen guys running hard shells and tent or two on top of the cab and shell which would probably push about the same weight or more. and they go on designated wheeling trips across alaska and so on...
