Copy that. My 285s aren’t nearly that wide and I’ll be running 1.25 spidertrax spacers to help combat some rubbing as well

Spacers tend to make rubbing on the fenders/pinch weld even worse, but they do help if you rub the inside of the frame. Make sure you get a good alignment and that will help with the fender/pinch weld rubbing.

Some trimming/beating back of the pinch weld is pretty much always needed with 33s

 

Yes I figured as much. Went with the spacers because the wheels have 4.5 BS and most guys I’ve seen with exact wheel run the spacers with the 285

 

yeah without them you might rub the frame, I dunno...with my aftermarket wheels I rub the frame at full lock even with skinny 33s. Not much but enough to rub the paint off the frame in that spot. Will probably try out some small spacers one day

Replacing the LCA bushings on my truck, go OEM or something like Energy suspensions kit?
I'm replacing the LBJ's as well so if I go OEM I want to do it in one order.

Also, what UCA's do you guys recommend? Ball joint style, not uniball.

I was just reading about the SPC, I'll check out the JBA arms.
We have a press, DIY everything except the alignment. Good to know, my 883's are stiff as is.

 

Uwharrie is it until you hit the mountains. Horsepasture road in upsate SC has some more trails near by, but apparently arent that technical. Check out the Southeast section on here, thats where youll find info on all trails/parks near us. But UHW is all there is within 1.5 hours of the triad I believe.

I have some bulge and deflection but I just do the chalk test to find the proper PSI.

I used Energy suspension for my steering rack bushings and was pretty happy with them but I'll check out the whiteline bushings.

 

The Whiteline Bushing are not listed for our trucks (I believe they are only listed for 3rd Gen 4runners). But I can confirm they fit. Been running them over a year.

Get the white line bushings. The poly will ride smoother just use the right grease.

If you want longevity get the SPC uppers. Uniballs don't last as long.

 

Not only for longevity... you can replace SPC ball joints in about 30 minutes if needed.

 

Not even close. The Energy = you have to burn the OEM rubber bushings out of the stock sleeve and then the Energy bushings are just pressed in to the stock sleeve.

The Whitelines are vulcanized in to their own sleeves.

 

SPCs allow for caster/camber adjustment with the upper ball joint, the JBAs don't...but I don't know that many actually adjust the SPCs outside of the normal setting. Both have greaseable ball joints and the JBAs have zerks for greasing the bushings too which is nice. The SPCs don't have that feature, at least mine don't...not sure if the most recent design changed.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. I've had SPCs for over 2 years and no issues with them.

 

Got trans temps for my 02 on my new Ultraguage. The MX is definitely worth the extra few pesos if you can spare it. Hell, the Ultragauge in general is soooo worth it for these trucks.

Actually, the Energy bushings will rotate inside the outer sleeve because only friction is holding them. The bushings aren't actually supposed to do that.

The Whiteline wont rotate inside the outer sleeve because they are vulcanized in to the sleeve.

The inner sleeve is actually what is supposed to rotate.
