It’s just a cheap insurance mod. Issue isn’t necessarily directly where water drips, but when the water pools and then runs elsewhere to collect, over the course of years. And that water sitting in close proximity to the cats and their heat.

Fitment and alignment was good? No frustrations?
Both for $10 more than a single OEM fixture and more the look I'm looking for, just seemed like a good interim solution to replace the broken one. I can worry about a permanent solution like retrofits when I have more disposable income (out of dumb kid debt).

Thank you for answering my question. Since I have everything needed to do this simple mod, just consider it already done. Thank you!

Some days you can’t win :angrygirl:. But the sunrise was beautiful and I did get my camper shell handle stripped, sanded and repainted.

Oh yeah had to be a box truck or semi. Just really irritating when people hit vehicles and then just take off.

Swapped out 3 idler pulleys, along with new bolt. OEM from local dealer. Took about 30m to do, and the hardest part was threading a ratchet up into there and getting my sockets onto the very rusted bolts. Luckily none stuck, so once I rubbed off enough surface rust from the heads for the socket to fit, it was easy.

Have a replacement bearing coming for the tensioner pulley so should get that replaced soon.

This eliminated the increasingly annoying faux turbo whine that kicked in JUST before 100k miles. I can still hear the tensioner pulley bearings whine a bit, but it's only noticable with the hood up.

So that leaves transmission fluid change, brake system flush and refill and driveline grease to go on the 100k service. Might do brake line extension when I flush the system.

Changed the oil/filter and lubed the front suspension and driveshaft u-joints. Advance auto had a 5qt full synthetic oil/filter package for $33 online. That plus a quart.

Got my Tacoma a few weeks ago(60k miles), it's been so nice I've had the windows down the whole time. Tried out the AC today and it had a bit of a smell. Changed the cabin air filter and apparently the old owner never did...

I decided to make my own bed cubby caps today to seal them up.
I got the idea from @micwillia (cheers ).

I used Onyx which is a Nylon/Carbon-fiber filament.
