New here and have been researching how to get an oem pro grill for my 2019 TRDOR. I found a local dealer who will order me the grill for 200 but said the garnish for some reason is coming up for like 500 dollars. I’ve been calling around to other dealers and they all say them same thing. Is this Toyota’s new thing to prevent people from changing the grill? Seems outlandish or a mistake to me

The TSS garnish is about $50 not $500

See that’s what I’ve been reading but if you try and google the part number right now it’s selling for hundreds from dealers

rightfully so, but ebay is relatively buyer friendly so if there's an issue just present your case and get your monies back.

Amazon is a lot more buyer friendly but stuff is always a bit pricier. I wouldn't suggest panic buying thinking this is the TRD Pro Garnish shortage of 2019

Some of the eBay sellers are actually Genuine Toyota Dealership parts departments

    This

I get my oem air filters and oil filters from a dealership in Miami through ebay. Cheaper than 10 miles down the road picked up.

Heck, when I added cruise control to my Tacoma I had to order a pedal switch and it was cheaper to ship it from dubai than anywhere in the united states and it was an OEM part.

I know this is an old thread, but seeing the same issue. Is there really a difference between oem and the knock-offs for this piece? It just looks like a piece of plastic, but I don't want to have sensor issues (or have it look noticeably crappy).

There is a difference between oem and aftermarket garnishes. Some aftermarket garnishes would throw TSS errors, although the aftermarket one I have does not do this.

Biggest issue I see is that the aftermarket ones are much lighter in color and looks 'off' compared to OEM.
