Yeah you can, though I would use something less smelly. Just some vinegar works well

I think my roommates and I have a pretty interesting driveway going on. Two first gens and a restored 86 Fiero. Not pictured is a 98 Suzuki Sidekick, 02 F-250, and a 2nd gen Cummins.

Yeah about that... it's a Quincy 15HP 3 phase. Don't know tank size. My buddy has issues and kept upgrading and upgrading our compressor setup until he found out the local high school was remodeling their auto shop and had this for sale. He just showed up with a phase converter last week and has been working on setting things up for a couple days now.

Fuck. I want that. Thought i have no need for it. The biggest one HF has does everything i need it todo. Unless I decide to get into painting or sand blasting. How much he get that for?

He got it for $450 (sold our 5HP upright tank Quincy to fund the upgrade) and the plate on it says it was manufactured in like 1992. I've seen them go for that in government auctions/surplus. I've been using an old craftsman like the one below for my air tool needs and harbor freight sand blasting setup.

Holy shit, you have a 3 Phase compressor?

Let me know how he converted it to single phase. I’m looking to upgrade my compressor to a commercial unit. Sandblasting uses so much air my poor 60 Gal 1 Phase can’t keep up.

I'd ideally like a scroll compressor with the 100% duty cycle, those are near silent. They're about $2,000 though.

I mean get a single phase to 3 phase converter so you can run a 3 phase pump. Its not hard. Its how we use to run the dough mixer at the restaurant.

Yeah he's currently setting up a phase converter and working out the logistics.

Haha, what? Your stand mixer is three phase?

I'd like a nice big unit like that, no remote clue where the hell I'd put it. It's the size of a Mini Cooper.

We have a mixer capable of mixing like 200+ pounds of dough. Yeah it was 3 phase lol
The converter is pretty easy to install. Basically plug and play
