I’m sure these are naughty references knowing you two.... I just don’t know who/what it is.

I get what you’re saying. Glad ya haven’t followed thru, it could get ya into trouble. We all have bad days, it’s unavoidable. You seem truly unhappy with your job. Don’t get discouraged, hopefully something fulfilling will come along. Hang in there.

 

I’ve been thru a lot of shit at my teenage/young adult life. Many life experiences and life lessons. Still learning shit.

Well, the thread certainly took a serious turn last night.
I've been up since 2 AM, couldn't sleep, and have been thinking about what I've read.

First off, I'm pleased you're all such decent people.
Nobody framed happiness in grandiose terms, like power, position, money.

Yeah, I suppose without that, nothing else much matters.
We're social creatures.
Nevertheless, there's more to happiness.

Beats youthful enthusiasm and inexperience every time.
The lumps we gotta take to "learn from experience" should be good for something.

I have in all seriousness been considering that.
Traveling light and camping out of my truck.
And hiking the full length of the Appalachian Trail, among other things.
Alone, because there's no way my wife could do it.
Nor is she at all interested in camping.
It's a dilemma.

Oh yes, and you can find some if you try. Little things, sometimes.
Right now I'm enjoying the pre-dawn quiet having my coffee in my home theater with the door to the balcony open.
If the moon was still up, the catbirds and mockingbirds would be singing.
They'll start by 5 AM, at any rate.

I did that for about 8 months after my injury, surgery, and consequent retirement.

Yeah.
