I've been reading threads for a while and decided to join to follow the progress of OVtuning for 3rd gen Tacomas both NA and the upcoming superchargers and turbochargers. I sold my 2014 FJ Cruiser 6MT to buy my 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road 6MT and just traded it in and bought a 2019 TRD Pro 6MT. I've been a fan of Toyota's since my first 1977 FJ40 that I drove in high school back in the mid 90s. I still miss the FJ Cruiser but the Tacoma is the best truck I've owned and I enjoy driving it, especially with the manual transmission. The 2019 seems to have better power than the 2017, both are the basically the same truck, just TRD Off Road vs. TRD Pro but same engine and transmission. The 2019 feels stronger, not sure why, it's probably just my imagination. Looking forward to powertrain progress by OVTuning. I wouldn't mind a little extra power (low boost or cams) if it can be done with OEM reliability similar to the old TRD Superchargers for the 4.0 V6 in the FJ and 2nd gen Tacoma.
