If the air conditioner on a car is not dripping condensation, is that always a sign of low freon or do some cars just not drip much?

Is it blowing cold? If not, and not making other horrible noises, usual low on coolant. If it's not making noises and still blowing cold, it'll probably be fine

Cold but i suspect it should be better. Just odd not having a puddle under it. My Highlander and 4R always have water dripping when AC runs. Not a drop from car though.

Is there condensation on the condenser? Could just be collecting in the splash guard or something. Or maybe that particular condenser doesn't collect condensation as quickly as some others do and won't drip? Not all AC systems are the same. Either way, don't think its a sign of anything. If you are worried about freon levels, stick a gauge on it. You can loan one from autozone

I'd recommend getting it checked, grab that gauge from autozone or take it somewhere, any shop can do that so a cheap one you trust is the call there. No water under it at all doesn't sound right.

Would anyone be interested in buying a full set of RCI Powdercoated Steel Skids? I just put them on a few weeks ago. Tossed my OEM TRD OR skids.

Here is the kicker, Im in Memphis, TN. I need your old skids. Can give you a deal on the RCI skids for the hassle of needing your old skids and mounting bolts. All RCI hardware will be included.

Was planning on lifting and wheeling my tacoma, but am going to go with a solid axle mini truck instead. Can work out a good deal for someone looking to upgrade their taco.

Make sure it's not dripping into the car.... clogged evaporator drains or a misaligned drain will cause a leak into the car..... the footwell carpet on either side will be wet.

Mini is def cheaper and will be a better wheeler. I think most folks go Tacoma or 4runner and can't go backwards in luxury, space and just daily use in general.

Side note, I've seen like 20 fucking people on here who live in Memphis and have met like 5. Not that I go out much but seems odd we can't at least get a group to go to an offroad meet together. After typing this though, I obviously don't care that much otherwise I would try and make that happen. Hmmmmmm, ok good talk. :hattip:

your evaporator drain could be clogged, though I would suspect you would know by now because your carpets would be wet.

If your AC is only cold when you are moving, that's probably because of the limitations of the condenser not getting enough air flow when idling in the summer heat.

My mom would complain about this when driving my dad's 2001 Eclipse. Even though it has a electric fans, the "grill" on an 01 Eclipse is basically nonexistent. But boy does that AC get ICE COLD when you are doing at least 40 mph.

    Oops.. beat me to it.

Yeah I built a firstgen 4runner to the teeth. E lockers, duals, RCVs and all, but I daily drove it and needed a more comfortable DD. Thats why I got the tacoma. Now that I am moving into a bigger house a trail only truck just makes sense, and I can drive the taco to work. ha

Shoot me a PM. Figure we can get a price that works for both of us, they were installed a month ago, havent even hit a gravel road in my truck since.

Even if you had, if a negotiating tactic for paying less for skid plates, sliders, bumpers, etc .... is they are scratched, you're a real fuck stick. Seeing as the whole point of them is to scratch them instead of your truck, kinda ruins any argument of "well I'll have to repaint them so I'll pay you half price." How bout noooooooooo.

Now if they look like my ifs skid looks and every time I unbolt it I have to redrill new mounting holes and only get 3 out of 6 bolts back in, then negotiating paying the price of scrap steel makes perfect sense.
