Same with my daily, no spare.
Borrowed one from a stranger for last weekends trip. Was mighty nice of him.
AAA will tow me 100 miles but the wait would suck.

Well that’s awesome of him and nice to hear about people doing good deeds. I need to get one before any bigger road trips with the daily. I think the “kit” from Hyundai is like $150 which isn’t bad, just need to get a tire for the rim they provide.

My truck spare isn’t anything special either lol. It may be full size, but 5 plugs in the sidewalk and it still leaks slowly. Good enough to get me off a trail or to the next town though. Might actually splurge on a full set of 5 rims and tires when I jump to 37’s so I can stop having a shitty spare

I went round and round with the sales manager about this when we bought the wife’s Kia Soul. They said the car comes with an air pump and and a can of tire sealer, plus road side assistance. Lol a lot of good that does me stuck in the middle of nowhere if I have a catastrophic tire failure. Besides who wants to sit and wait for RRA when you can change a tire yourself in 10 min. They tried to sell me the spare tire kit for close to $500! I told the I could buy the whole thing on Amazon for around $200. I just told them put a spare and a jack in the car or I’m leaving now! I finally got them to throw it in at no cost. So check amazon they are pretty reasonably priced for the whole kit.

Yeah the kit is like $150 and comes with everything except the tire. Has the rim, just no tire. I didn’t buy the car new or I would have done the same as you and negotiated for it. I’ll get it eventually

WTF is a “clue report” ?

Not that I think I am very concerned, I have insurance because it’s the law. Full glass is offered and I drive downtown from Gilbert so I get all kinds of stuff kicked up and thrown at me along the way.

I have noticed the traveling on I17 is more prone to debris than I10 for whatever reason.

Got off the phone with Toyota Corporate customer service. Probably the best phone customer service experience I’ve ever had. They were super patient and resourceful. They fully informed me that my new hybrid battery came with a 3 year/unlimited miles warranty, contrary to what the dealership told us (1 year/12000 miles). They also provided a case number for dealers to reference if need be in the future. If you ever suspect that a dealership is taking you for a ride, always confirm with Toyota.

Anyone want/need some used Toyo RT's?

Buying new tires later next week and thought I'd throw my old ones up here. Seeing as I no longer have any use for them I thought I'd offer them up. They are 295/70/17 and have about 36K miles on them. There is still a bit of tread left and would make great full size spares. They are by no means in perfect condition. Missing chunks, have gouges, and some uneven wear. But they're FREE! If I don't get any interest before they're off the truck then they're staying at Discount Tire. If you want one or all then just shoot me a PM.

Clue report is your claims history report also the same info will show on carfax in most cases.
There are some insurance companies that are now rating and underwriting on glass claims too many and they won't accept you for a new policy

    no.

clue stands for comprehensive loss underwriting exchange. it’s a report generated by a company called lexisnexis and it contains accidents and comprehensive claims, including glass. this information is NOT provided on a carfax report (carfax aren’t accurate, but that’s a different discussion). ALL insurance companies will use accidents, claims and tickets as rating factors. too many glass claims won’t disqualify you from the major companies. however, if you have too many of anything, any insurance company can non-renew your current policy. this is nothing new so it’s not really a “there are now...” situation.

Got the dash all ready for the dashboard to go back in. Also figured out a way to fix the curling on the dashboard!!
