Interesting. I haven't been there. Trailforks doesn't have many details -- where is the best parking for those Briar Chapel trails?

Interesting, I might be interested. I have a ks lev on my Remedy and I like it. Is it a lev Integra or a different model?

115mm rear travel will not cut it as Pisgah. I would recommend at least 130mm. Between the 27.5 and 29 you will have enormous feedback from the rear end if you ride tech trails a lot

I tried the short-travel-but-poppy thing for a bit with an Evil Following and didn't last long. Long travel rear shocks are getting really good and pedal nicely.

If it’s internally routed then it might be an Integra. I think they have a few other models that are also internal though

Herndon is on the outer edge of the BC trails. All the trails there are part of a housing development built inclusive of trails. I generally park anywhere in the center of the complex, near the pool/common building. There may be a trailhead parking area now on the entrance road. It’s been a year or so since I’ve ridden there and I know they’ve been doing a lot of work on the Herndon side.

I’ll be riding trails in VA this weekend or I’d show you around down there.

Its internally routed. I'll give it a look over when I get home from work and keep you posted on how it fits me over the weekend. It may end up working just fine for my height, and in the end you may end up preferring a different model or a new one anyway. No worries either way for me

Sounds good! I might end up ordering the oneup today...I just want something to put on before I ride this weekend, which I don’t think will happen

I have Reserve duty this weekend anyway, so I'll probably go out there on the 20th or 21st. I'll hit you up with a pm before then to see if you're around.

can confirm, have 140mm rear on my jeffsy about to up it to 150mm with 150mm out front. I ride in XC time trials sometimes and am middle rear of the pack. Solely due to the amount of flamin hot cheetos and beer I consume

Local GIANT shop manager just called to tell me that they sold the Trance 29 I was supposed to borrow tonight, so it looks like that idea is on hold for a while. Bummer.

Perhaps I'll just throw a 29" wheel+fork on the front of my Mojo3 and run it as a "mullet 97.5er" for a while. That seems to be the latest racing fad anyways. :notsure:

That's standard operating procedure for Shimano... "publicly" release a new and highly sought after widget, then provide it only to their top-tier competitors until they work out the bugs, THEN trickle it out to the dirty, unwashed masses.

A new bike trail opened up, nice to see the sign telling hikers to yield as it always seems to be the other way around telling the bikers to yield horses and hikers.

I was just talking to someone the other day about how in Canada(?) or somewhere in Europe, the hiker and biker slot is reversed. They recognized the ease of a hiker stepping off trail right quick and made it the trend.

ah dude this is so so so awesome. Im always super niceto hikers but horse riders can go to hell. If you can afford to keep a horse you can afford to have land to ride your horse on. You can also afford the little bags that catch horse shit, and not make your problem everyone elses problem!

I don't mind horses for the most part. Plus riding the same trail over and over gets boring.

But if you choose to risde your horse on a busy trail on a saturday...fuck off. Horses are big dumb scaredy animals that have no place in crowded public venues. And I say that as a kid who grew up all around horses. My mom's horse Zeus was terrified of blue tarps and those mylar foil balloons. And miniature donkeys.

I got bucked off my sister's horse, Doc, because a bird flew too close to his face.
