What you are missing is every time the package changed hands, from when the shipper takes possession to each change in truck. It could have changed hands 3 times or more just with the shipper. Any potential that the box was beat so badly at one transition that they re-boxed it?

Good luck with all of your shipped items.

Let's change the subject lol. Has anybody ever used an oscillating tool to cut body plastic? I have oscilator I use all the time for home maintenance projects and thinking it would work awesome for cutting the bumper. Not that the dremmel did a poor job before just thinking this might make it even easier.

@SouthernStyleOffRoad if I email you guys can I measure mine vs yours? I guarantee my bumper is tweaked. Not the wing, at the top.

SSO hybrid bumper, Warn winch, RCI skid trilogy, RRW sliders, everything in the cheap/free mods thread, and of course the frame recall work.
If you have not ordered yours yet, you can get $100 off the bumper setup using code REFN7SVH58PC2 at checkout. Mine was under $800 delivered and powder coated using that code!

I could see that working. Especially if you are proficient with it. I am planning on using a dremel. I have a handful of cut off wheels for it so I figured I may as well use it. I considered getting a cheap air powered body saw until I found those dremel cut off wheels in my stash.

Speaking of cutting, Now that I have the wings shimmed and bolted to the bumper, is there any reason I can't just make all the cuts at one time and install it together as one piece? I know the video from SSO recommends starting with just the slimline, but I can't find a reason to not just cut it all at once and install in one go.

I’ll be honest, after reading some of the last posts I had some concerns about how they might fit. I’ve had mine for almost 3 years and was in on the early production runs.

Real quick fit up, and I can already tell the SSO knocked this out of the park. Well done guys. I’ll update this once install is complete.

That makes me happy. I bought my slimline with the initial group buy. I ordered my HCK through a third party in the middle of may. I need to call them see were my parts are! Getting anxious AF!

The one piece, if it happens, won't be this year. It's not even on the drawing board.

Got it finished up last night. Tried to get some decent photos, but black bumper on a black truck with an overcast day. Had to over expose and blow out the shadows, but you should get the idea. All in, it wasn't that bad of an install, for anyone that has a block heater installed, you may have to relocate it, you have to unplug it from the element and pull it out through the bumper and reroute it.

One big tip, for anyone running a Smittybilt X2O waterproof winch, or anyone planning on running one. Replace your wireless switch with a waterproof one, it's a common failure and very easy to fix. Mine hasn't worked for the last couple years, either of these is a direct replacement.

or the illuminated one (which is what I went with, just had to add the ground wire)

I relocated my control box, with the wireless not working, wife had a had time getting the remote plugged in, the mounts had also rusted to the point they snapped off when I was removing the bumper.

The only other thing I would add, for @SouthernStyleOffRoad is if the hardware was 1/4" longer it would have been ideal, I added two shims and the included bolts were just barely long enough.

Or make a bumper that doesn't require shims lol

It's less than 2mm worth of shims. Those are pretty tight tolerances by any standards, especially a bumper.

Seems like you're fixing the symptom and not the problem
