@eon_blue are there any good camping spots in Santa Barbra that you would recommend?

Not sure TBH, when I lived out that way in school I wasn't into wheeling or camping back then. But there has to be, the Los Padres forest and mountains are right back there. I might look into that for something a bit different

I’m going to have to miss out on the run this weekend. A few things popped up that take priority. :annoyed:

I definitely want to get out with everyone here soon. Especially now that my truck is back on the road.

I have never had a problem getting a spot to camp anywhere in the park, on a Friday afternoon/evening. Aliklik should be wide open, being it's a non-holiday weekend.

My plan is to arrive in Gorman on Friday morning. I enjoy the emptiness, even though it's only for several hours...LOL

Aw bummer man, no worries though I'm sure we'll do another MJT run this season before they close it for winter. I think it stays open through the end of October usually

Are y'all open to having a 4Runner on the MJT with you this Saturday (& potentially any future runs)? Just ran White Mountain in Big Bear last week with our Jeep club, but would love to join in with you guys.

That's one of my favorite places to camp, did that a couple years ago. I'd be up for that next time

Last time we got to the camp spot early in the day, drank way too much beer that afternoon/night, and then the next morning when we did MJT I thought I was going to throw up the entire time. Probably take it a little easier next time lol.

Absolutely. I’d make it a 2 day trip since it’s a bit of a drive and would much prefer a night run at that. Keep me posted.

Haha I just noticed 5 of the 6 other people not including myself that are going on Saturday have sliders built by me. Hope none of them break :anonymous:

For sure, 4runners are still part of the family haha. We have a couple more spots in the original group still open for MJT this Saturday. I'd say on a scale of 1 - 10 (4x4 trails only) White Mtn would be a 4 and MJT would be a 6 or pushing 7, at least in my opinion based on stuff I've done. Others might rate those 2 differently. Do you have sliders?

White Mtn is pretty easy to get thru without needing armor it you're careful, but MJT you're gonna want sliders at least..with battle scars to the stock skid plate pretty much guaranteed unless you have higher than 3" lift.

It's a fun trail with some challenging moments. If that sounds good then feel free to sign up on the Google doc on the 1st page!

Cool! And yes, I have a 3" lift, 3 piece RCI steel skids, and sliders so I think I should be good. Let me confirm with my guy before committing, but hopefully I'll see you guys. Thank you!
