Probably would just be easier for 4wd transmission but mine is low miles so it might be worth the adapter route.

If its low mileage it might be worth looking in to that then .

I'd watch and help where I could. Definitely would drink a few beers during this process.
Can't you replace the shaft on these with a 4wd one? I seem to remember reading this at one time. Possibly even cut the 2wd longer tailshaft down. I could be mistaken.

It's all still up in the air right now! lol Not sure if I want to sell and upgrade my 3rd gen, or keep it and fix it for the trails.

My first time. Wife wanted to come here with her visiting family. Haven’t been to town yet.

Side note. Just left Chattanooga. Was an awesome two night trip.

The beer garden place is pretty sweet. The town was much smaller than we expected

Nice view! We've stayed in some cabins in the Blue Ridge Mountains that have similar terrain and scenery.

As for my 2nd gen, I'm still on the fence about it, until I figure the pros/cons of keeping/selling it. It's in the shop right now, waiting for me to bring in a new clutch pedal assembly. I ordered one today and hopefully it will be here by week's end. Plus, I'll probably have to discuss with the wifey first. I'm original owner and I know everything that's been done to the truck, which hasn't been much.

How’s the temp over there? We were planning on going tubing and camping next weekend. But with this heat no one is really wanting to go.

You can cut them but I’d rather just by em and not cut any corners and do it right!

If your gonna bang hard on the trails I say fix up your 06 and make it your rig. If your going more overland style/ light Offroad the. 3rd gen should be fine.
