It has unfortunately, and rightfully so, moved up my list! Really enjoy this bottle! Now the hard part is to show moderation and restraint. Although only two pours have been mine. I've been fairly generous with samples as others have been with me.

Finally got around to trying out my WTF Glencairn. Thought a little Blanton's would go well with it.

First pour of the day, so I should have at least been able to get the lid on the right way. :notsure:

Can I play? I had high hopes for this one. First impressions are that it's smooth and a good sipper. It lacks a bit of the character that I was hoping for given it's claimed roots in Japan and Kentucky. I'm going to give it another taste tomorrow night. We'll see how the second date goes.

It is unique. I took at is a Japanese and Kentucky blend when I first learned of it. But it's a blend of Kentucky bourbon by a Japanese blender. I see the angle they were going for but it lost some appeal when I saw that. Still a really good drinker to me though and I'll get a couple more to have on hand. I kinda see it as a unique Bookers batch.

I just popped of bottle of this Monday after staring at it on the shelf for a few months. Definitely has the typical Jim Beam flavor profile imo. Kinda underwhelming. Will it drink yes. But I would rather have 4R SB, BT, and others at a cheaper price.

I dig the stuff. It drinks closer to a Japanese whisky than a bourbon, to me. The wine and sherry casks add a little of the delicacy that Japanese whiskies tend to have. Given the price point, Fukuyo didn't exactly have the choicest of barrels to blend from, but the result is still plenty pleasant. I get a ton of black cherry on it.

Not one of my favorites, but one I wouldn't mind grabbing again, too.

I hope they keep this thing going with different versions of Legent down the road. I'd buy in on a sub-$40 ongoing experiment like that.

Apparently this is on the Total Wine allocated counter, now. What the hell is going on?!?!

Maybe the last bottle I have for a while because, while it's quite good, I'm not going to play the hype game and I won't pay over $32.

Depends on the High West particular version you try. I am not fond of some of their limited editions - or at least the flavors might not be what be what I am in the mood for. But Campfire has always treated me right. Different people get different hints of flavors from it that are stronger than others. It's all subjective and depends on what you are into I guess.

Stumbled on some W12, if any one is interested... I passed on it, mainly because I have more sense than money haha! (Potato quality, but $330 bottle)

They also had some WSR - going for $74, Eagle Rare for $80, and some Old Fitz bib going for a cool $499... Needless to say, I laughed my ass off as I walked out empty handed!

Huh. I vaguely remember seeing a peat week bottle near me a few days ago and thinking nothing of it. Never heard of it. Something special?

Can't stand places that gouge like that. ER is $27 at Costco near me, but a local store has it at 60+..
