There is no valid reason to give up meat... so I won’t.

I’m a hunter and my family farms. I’ve slaughtered a pig and a steer, and chickens. I really have no issues with eating animals.

My big thing is sustainable farming practices mostly organic farming and primarily grass fed beef.

I try to incorporate some "vegan" meals every now and then into my routine. You can't be true vegetarian or vegan, you're missing too many essential nutrients. Plants just do not provide enough nutrients.

They are also hard to manage with high protein. Nearly every plant has carbs in it, and if you're trying to keep them lower... well... that's not easy. I do enjoy a really well cooked plant meal though, not gonna lie. If done right... damn they can be tasty.

I used an elliptical yesterday for the first time, holy fuck my legs were sore after .35 miles, I stopped after 3:21 because of muscle soreness.
I then used the treadmill for 1.5 miles, alternating walk and run.

It probably didn’t help that the last few days I’ve been spending 6+ hours/day seated in a vehicle.

Back from my vacation. Left Wednesday morning weight check was #202.1 felt pretty lean. No carbs since Saturday. Wednesday was my carb day (apparently so was thursday-sunday LOL)...

Ate pretty much the entire world while I was on vacation (who cares I don't compete :) ) Lots of cookout food, chips and dip. Maybe 12 alcoholic drinks at most.

I'll tell you what the pump was SICK yesterday lol. Weighed in Monday morning #210.2 (even on diuretics I still managed to gain 8 pounds of water lol)

Good news is today I am down to #207.5 and after a few more days I expect to be around #205. Without the carbs or much water on those 3 low days I lost some water weight. I am trying to maintain #205-207 throughout the rest of the summer but slowly chisel fat out of the way. Feeling SO good right now.

So I took about 2 weeks off from any upper body and pressing movements after my shoulder scare on bench press. Benched today and worked up slowly for some volume at 225 and hit a couple moderate intensity singles at 255 and 275. Everything felt good. I also brought my grip in about 3inches which was probably what caused my issues to begin with. Wider grip shortens the ROM but also puts a lot more stress on the shoulders...

My quads are fuuuuuuuuuked up, I'm still so sore today that I can barely climb stairs or sit in a chair.
I wanted to run after I got home from work but didn't because I'm afraid I'll mess them up even more.

I’ve been vegetarian for 20ish years and nearly vegan for the last few (cheese is my weakness). It’s not that hard. The only difficult thing is trying to do low carb high protein.

Before I stopped going to the gym back in November (recently just started again) my squat was 415, dead 455, bench 295 (ugly so maybe more like 285), and SOHP was 185.

I had no issues with my macros. I think last time I tracked them I was shooting for 300 carbs, 70 fat, and 200 protein. With it becoming more and more popular it’s getting easier and easier to do it.

Are you consuming protein supplements to get to 200g or just getting there with whole foods?

Mostly whole foods. I usually have a pwo shake that’s usually 40-50g.

Edit: iPhone changed whole foods to Whole Foods (the store). I definitely don’t eat from mostly Whole Foods.

I too have narrowed my bench grip probably 3 inches as well. Sure it makes the movement a bit harder and more ROM, but my shoulders don't scream at me at the bottom anymore.

Do any of you guys have joist mounted pull up bars?

I have an extra TV I'm putting in the garage and I'm going to set up a small area to do my P90X in the garage when one car is pulled out (I'm not wanting to do Kenpo X or Plyo in my living room lol). I want to get a pull up bar to put in there but need something to mount to the joists that give me some head room. My garage is completely finished and insulated so I need room to lift all the way up and not put my head through the drywall lol.

Oh and I'm 5'9'', husband 6'0'' and I really don't like jumping up to get to the bar. Ideally I'd like to mount it closer to the floor where I can reach it on my tip toes. I'm not seeing much that allows for a low hanging option. Ceilings are 8 ft tall.

Maybe you welders can help me you here lol.

I’m 5’ 9 and always jump for pull ups. The other option would be to get a small stool to step up on and off of and just bend your knees during the pull up so it’s not in the way. They are cheap. I have a few around the house for my 5’ 1 wife to reach the top shelves

If its my pull up bar it will be set up just fo me :)

Jumping hurts my rotator cuff. I like to walk up and pull. Plus I can use bands if needed. Its hard to jump into bands... and more so hard to get out of them to jump down lol.

I think you said you had plyo boxes. Did you make yours?

Making progress! I just finished up 15 minutes on the rower and then I did 2 sets of 10 squats with just the bar and 2 sets of 10 of some 20# bicep curls. Head is feeling good so far.
