Ceramic is definitely worth the extra. Funny thing though my factory rears metered 18%. I originally just did the fronts in 15% Llumar CTX and thy measured 13% after. It looked good but the rears needed to be done for heat rejection purposes. Went with 40% on the rears and ended up at 12%. About as perfect of a match as you can get. This picture is with just the fronts done. The rears were stock.

Looks great. Would you be able to post a pic with the Taco outdoors on a sunny day? Just want to see the difference. Mine is not metered but the tint percentages are 50 windshield, 35 fronts, stock rears, and 20 the back window. Looks great when it’s cloudy or night time but in the day time it’s too light for me. I’m looking into getting the fronts darker and match the rears.

Once I get back home I’ll post a pic or maybe a video but It does not make it as dark as it seems. Right now people can see me if I am in the driver seat.

I’m getting my windows done tomorrow and was thinking about a tint band on the windshield. I had it done to a previously owned TSX but I didn’t think it did much plus I hated the look of the hard edge. Why do you like it? I’m still trying to decide if it’s worth it or not...

In my case there is factory, dealer, and the GulfStates Toyota who is the middleman distributor that sits in between. They install the things like to t I believe.

I had the same thoughts as you. I've never had a tinted vehicle so I really hate the hard line look. However, one month with side and rear tinted I'll give this input. I find in mid morning/early afternoon when the sun is high, The sun would be blocked by the strip instead of hitting my hands/gauges etc. in addition to driving into the sun at night etc.

Anyway, scheduled to go back and have the tint line put in as I think I'll like it better with it. Can always peel it off (according to tint guy).

I put 5% ceramic tint on the rear doors and window. Plus a strip on the windshield. The ceramic coating makes a huge difference. It was 102 today and it was a lot cooler than I expected. My old 06 Silverado has the same tint darkness but without the ceramic coating and it didn't make the difference like the coating does.

Got the fronts done today at legal 50%.

Before and after. Or after and before. The one with the Finish Line sign is after.

Ugh - I passed on ceramic for the fronts when I first got my truck. If I have to park outside it get really hot inside... I always chalked it up to the front windshield being exposed, but from whats posted here the ceramic would make a big difference...?

I also would assume it would be hard to see out of a tinted front windshield when it's dark.

I have 20% all the way around on my 2nd gen. Cops here in TN don’t typically stop you just for tint violations (legal limit 35%). I just bought my 3rd gen and I’m now trying to decide if I want to put 5% over the stock “privacy glass”. I prefer not riding in a fish bowl as I’m already spending $300+ for tint.

According to my buddy that did mine, if you aren't doing ceramic on the rears it won't save you any heat. I am adding some ceramic film to my rear windows over the factory tint.

That’s what I did. 15% ceramic on the front. 40% ceramic on the rear. Made the rears come out to 11-12%
