No. Just take yours to a driveline shop and they will cut it shorter. I think it’s 13” but don’t quote me in that. You’ll have to measure the length difference once the t-case is added.

You’ve been a great help man! Now just to decide if I wanna take on this project or not. What was your total cost? I can do basically all the bolting and unbolting stuff myself. I’d probs get the crossmember from rst if I did it?

I spend about $2500. But at least $300 of that was trying to make the electronic work with the stock t-case before deciding to change to the FJ T-case. Also wasted money on an extra set of CV axle because I bought a used set that I thought were bad (but ended up being ok) so I bought another pair. Also wasted money by not making sure to get all the mounting hardware included when I bought the front diff.

Where did you get all your parts? From junk yards or just all around?

Also if i went the same route as you on just using my transmission only has 99k on it. What parts would be necessary? If you have part numbers that would be great. Thanks for all the help.

Sorry it's not formatted better. I got all these parts from amayama.co.jp It took awhile to receive the parts, but it was a lot cheaper. Some of the larger components I got from car-parts.com and ebay. I would suggest getting a full list of parts you need and making the few orders from amayama as possible. Shipping is expensive. I wasted at least $100 on shipping because I wasn't organized.

Seems high. I got my front diff for $400 and the t-case for $250. Spend about ~$600 converting the transmission. $300 for hubs. CV’s can be found for about $100/ea. $100 to cut the driveshaft. You pretty much have everything at that point. Add a couple hundred for misc stuff.

I use a stock tacoma diff. The tough part is finding one with 4.10 gears. They are less common than the ones with 3.73 gears. You could get one with 3.73 gears, but you'd have to immediately regear it to match the rear.

No. For multiple reasons. That adapter is for installing a gear drive t-case to a late model 4x4 transmission. Unless you want to find an old school t-case and use that instead of the newer FJ case (or stock 2nd gen t-case), but you'd still need to make your transmission 4x4. Including changing the output shaft and adding the 4x4 tailhousing.
