What kind of dealership is this? LOL All I asked was for pictures of the frame, from two different people, they promised to send them but nothing. Because it is 2 hours away, I can't come in and check it out. I told them if the frame looks good with no rust, I'd come and pick it up this weekend. I guess they don't want to sell the truck :rofl:

I’m betting it’s rusted to hell and back and they are waiting for a Moron to buy it.

Or, they don't care if you buy it or not, they may other buyers (probably do) less demanding. You don't say how old it is or the mileage or location. Maybe it's a "cream puff" and they won't have to jump through any hoops to sell it.

I doubt it. One contacted me at 7:30 in the morning and said will have pics ready by before 11:00 am. No communications whatsoever after that. I called, she didn't pick up, I texted no responses. Second person sounded more like he would do it, but no.
It is a 14 with 46k MT located in Missouri. Well they might, the vehicle has been listed for sale for more than a month. They are a bunch of lazy asses or simply just don't care

There is a possibility. I was hoping not because it is a 14 model, it's still fairly new but who knows haha

If it was a dealer around here, I wouldn't blame them. Why go through the extra work when I've got 2-3 other buyers at the door?

Tacomas don't sit in dealerships very long here. When I got mine, the ink hadn't even dried on the previous owner's paperwork before I spotted it. They hadn't cleaned it or anything. While I was pending sale, there were 2 other people wanting to see it. I believe from the time the dealer acquired it to the time I left the lot with it was less than 24 hours.

So yeah, I'm not surprised the dealer wouldn't go out of his way for someone who may or may not buy it when there's probably others beating on the door for it.

I can see that in the SW areas which I am very familiar with. The market is real hot there.
And if that's the case, the truck should have been sold by now. I would definitely move on but unfortunately, they have the only MT in the area.
I am now in Missouri and the truck has spend its whole life here according to CarFax

I would assume the truck is probably fine then. Sales person is just lazy and doesn’t want to crawl under to take photos. Getting it up on the lift isn’t so easy. That’s how the techs make money and paying work comes before helping out a salesman.

Perhaps give them a call and speak to someone quick on the phone. Tell them you’re interested but you’d like someone to email you photos of the frame before you’re willing to drive there to see it in person.

If a sales guy came to me and asked me to put a car on the lift to take pictures when I’m busy (assuming this is a semi busy dealer) I’d tell him either pay me an hour or kick rocks. Like many have said there’s probably already a buyer for it.

Lots of small lots don't have a tech or a lift. And owners of small lots may not even know what you're talking about. "Frame rust, who worries about that?" "Buy another truck when it rusts."

Probably because they have people asking them question after question about their inventory. 90% of thoose inquiries probably dont lead to a sale.

Factor in that its a Tacoma, and well, they probably dont want to be bothered.

Pretty annoying for sure, but that is the way of the world I suppose.

There is really no need to put it on the lift to take pictures of the frame. The clearance is high enough for a person just to kneel a bit down and snap some pics.
You are probably right. A Toyota truck in the GMC, Chevy, Buick dealer. They probably don't know about the rusting issues on the Tacos then haha
At this point, I assume that the truck has probably been in sale pending or the people are just hella lazy.

Back in May, when I spotted a 13 back home in New Mexico, I asked the salesman to snap me some pictures of the frame. And guess what, 45 mins later, he sent me a walk around, undercarriage, a noticeable scratch on the paint where pics don't show and interior video. He was the coolest salesman ever. If I was home, the truck could have been mine now hahaha

because they'll have a dozen other people coming to buy the truck who wont bother asking about the frame

salesmen typically dont want to "waste their time" with a troublesome buyer if they know they could get the same sale from someone else with a 1/10th the effort. Thats the problem when you're on the buying side of a product such as the Tacoma. It sells itself.

2 hours away is not much if you think it may be 'your unicorn'. I always have to go to Houston to even 'look' and it's an hour and a half. Nothing is ever local in TX. Even if you live in Houston everything is an hour and a half away.

I would try and talk with a salesman for a bit and tell him your situation, make him believe your actually really interested and ask him straight out if he’s will to send you the pics and work with you, get his name and give him your number. Tell him your ready to buy.

If you just emailed the dealership, your just another nobody.

I did. I talked to them on the phone. One was the Internet sale manager? and one was probably just a guy in the Sale department. But I will try one more time today and see what's up.
    Stay tuned guys !! lol

Hmmm, Well if you have no success and give up on this dealership. The last thing you do is email that internet sales manager a link to this thread. And say “ Have a nice day “
