Is a 2002 Toyota Tacoma direct injection or does the gas pass over the top of the valves ?

Injectors inject fuel into the lower intake manifold where it mixes with air and passes through the intake valves. Lower intake manifold, not lower intake plenum.

Does it pass over the valves or is it directly sprayed into the piston like a lot of newer engines sorry I didn’t get your answer

Into a mixing chamber and through the valves ie not direct injection.

probably the charcoal canister or the gas cap. Need to get your system smoke tested.

I would go back to the place and tell them you are still getting the codes.. every time I got a P0440 it was the charcoal canister.

You could do your own test by pressurizing it and with a bottle of soapy water spraying it all over the evap system lines.

Yeah they’ve worked on it on and off for about a month and sad part is it’s a ford dealership that works on other cars as well
