Yeah, all these dudes get invited. They can say no. But your riding career is def gonna take a hit. It's not mandatory in any way.

LOL, yeah. Not sure Ratboy could ever hold a 9-5. Def would be banned from talking to clients at the very least.

    "Oh,youwannaaddtheradsausagetothesteezyvacationpackage?Sickas,m8!"

interviewers adding subtitles to his interviews always crack me up.

One of my friends is a fairly low level privateer rider, and I gotta say: anyone who wants to ride MTBs for a living, its def a full time job. It's not the fun and games you think it is. Add to that all the race travel, social media presence, etc and damn, that a long ass day every day.

I have a ‘17 Trance Advanced 1 and an ‘18 Reign SX. The new Maestro suspension is fantastic. The new Trance 29ers even though they have less travel than the 27.5 trances, they feel like a much bigger bike than they are. Plus, I say it all the time.... There is a reason why so many other companies use Giant to manufacture their frames. Their technology is second to none and their customer service/warranty dept. is great to deal with. Hands down, you get the most bang for your buck with a Giant build. Other brands with the same build spec are always significantly more coin and with direct-to-consumer brands you’re on your own compared to having a relationship with a shop. I cracked a carbon hoop on a Giant bike, my shop had a full replacement (hoop, hub, spokes fully built) directly from Giant within a week. I didn’t even have to send back the old one. Needless to say, I stick to Giant. My riding buddies are all on Santa Cruz, Yeti and GT. I had 2 GT’s prior and they’re great bikes but Giant is where I stay now.

I've been sent to the hospital for the carnage off a 2' huck to flat gone wrong. I'd just die on impact on the drop in.

A gravel touring bike is as MTB as you can get on a roadie frame. I'll still count it.

I got absolutely massacred by a dude on a CX bike last night on a gravel road climb. Of course he was about to go compete for the gold in the Crusher in the Tushars so I don't think my odds were that great anyways.

The Trance is my everyday bike and the Reign is now my park bike (and a couple of local trails that warrant 170mm) It’s burly enough that I sold my Glory DH rig. The best is that the ciol has a “lockout” that revalves the shock so it pedals surprisingly well for such a big bike.

Yeah I just rode my local MTB route on this gravel last week. Never had full rigid before and I had to get some new tape ASAP to soak up this chatter.

Yeah, I ride my rigid fatty sometimes and every time I pay for it the couple hours after. I'm 27 and my back and jaw hurt for a good day afterwards.

I can feel your pain right now. But luckily I got a set of road wheels for it too so its a nice double feature bike.

The social media requirement alone makes me not want to do it. I can keep up with almost anybody on the bike but spamming myself throughout social media sounds miserable

Sweet bike! Gravel grinders are the jam and especially for beer runs!

Nice ride. You can mitigate some of the surface chatter making its way up through the frame and into you with some aftermarket component swaps. Vibration absorbing carbon bars, silicone tape, carbon seat posts that absorb some vibes, tubeless/wide tires and wide rims to dial in better pressures... there's tons of ways. Riding rigid will make you a better overall rider if you have the patience and tolerance for the learning curve. It forces you to look further ahead for the cleanest line, and be an active component of the bike. Out of the saddle to engage your core, legs, and upper body as the active suspension.

Uh... I'm 44 and race rigid SS... perhaps you should look into some off-the-bike strength training. Core work, squats, lunges, and running are all excellent base work to build and keep the foundation strong for MTB and any bike riding/racing.

One of my teammates that went with me to Kanza found some incriminating photos of me from the start to the first meeting town.

that's a great endorsement. The info about the warranty is particularly valuable. thank you!

Unfortunately, they sold the Trance 29 the day I was supposed to demo it this week. They're building up another one as we speak, so I should get to test it for a lap or two next Wednesday.

I may also experiment with the"mullet" option with the Mojo3 before selling it... not sure.

37 here and pedaling hard as well. I don't get out as much as I used to (or as much as I'd like), but I still can outpace many of the locals on the ups and flats. Much of this I attribute to my off bike cross training. I don't race and I ride solo 98% of the time, so my perspective is likely skewd and I fully acknowledge I am probably way slower than I think I am. But the guys I'm passing and lapping know I'm faster/stronger/have bigger lungs than them, and that makes me smile and push harder :D
