    hi All,

I am new to the forum and am planning to get a TRD Off-road Long bed 4x4 and put a four wheel camper on it.

Step one is to get the truck. Do you have any suggestions or contacts on getting a 2019 Tacoma close to invoice price? I am located in Fullerton California, but willing to travel a few hours in any direction.

Any tips or buying advice is welcome!

Thanks for your tips and suggestions!

    stuff and things...
email all the dealers you're willing to travel to with what you want, then pick the top three or so and use the others' bids to see if they'll go lower, that's what i did and it worked pretty well.

    Mods? Yes, oh yes..

The Fighting Chance car buying method. Pit all the dealers against each other. Helps to know EXACTLY what you want. I didn't even step onto a dealership lot until we did the paper work and drove it home. IMO better than credit union unless you're financing, which I showed up already financed. I'll never buy a major purchase from a franchise without using this method.

I got a buddy internet sales manager at Toyota of Chula Vista. He can hook you up if you tell him I sent you. I can also talk to him ahead of time which would probably be better...
are you looking to buy right away?
The 2020s are coming out pretty soon.

Cool! Yeah I was wondering when the 2020’s would come out. But it seems like the differences will be pretty small?

I’m looking to buy hopefully in the next few months....

May be worth it to wait for the 2020 if you're not in a hurry to buy. With the new tech (360 cameras, LED lights, apple car play/android auto..etc). Even if these differences are minimal to you, I'm sure dealers will be trying to get the 19's off the lot asap for the 20's.

Like others mentioned. Don't bother going in to the dealer. Send out mass email to all surrounding dealers and let them do the bidding for you. I've done this process twice, emailing to most if not all of the toyota dealerships in LA & OC and through both experience the two main dealers always willing to play are Tustin Toyota and Carson, not to say the others won't but this has been my personal experience. You just have to know exactly what you want.

    Good Luck!

@FISHY17 awesome! Thanks for the advice. That sounds like a great plan.

Anyone have any idea when the 2020's will hit the dealers?

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
Invoice is easy to get. You want to get between Dealer Cost and Invoice.

I’ve been hearing about a summer release.... I think it makes sense since it’s already announced anyway but it would break the trend

Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa. If I had known how cheap they were I would've bought a one way and driven the thing home lol

@pearljam145 Sure I would consider a lease if its a good deal. How does this process process work with a broker like Beach Cities Auto in your link? Is it still leased from Toyota Financial? If you dont mind sharing some more info on your process and then deal you got please PM me! Thanks for the info!

I recommend Gary or Karlen over Culver City Toyota. I got mine from there and I couldn't be happier

    Too few to list.
Welcome to the site! I've bought a few Toyota's around the area. Bought two Tacoma's off Cabe Toyota with Dan Dundridge. 4Runner at Hamer Toyota with Steve Denson. Also bought a Tacoma from Manhattan Beach Toyota but the salesman that helped me is no longer there. Another Tacoma at Gosch Toyota but salesman no longer there. A Prius from Valley Hi Toyota with Frank Yegge. I bought from these dealerships because they had in stock what I was looking for. I do know that Miller Toyota in Anaheim are dicks. They think their 4Runners and Tacomas are gold. Toyota of Whittier was purchased by a new owner about a year ago and has tripled their Tacoma inventory even carrying 3-4 4x4 manual at a time but haven't bought from them.
