Whats up Brother from the north

 

I know Kurt and I feel horrible. As I said on another of my favorite threads, I just couldn't get my head around the joy the forum brought me for so long. I just wasn't myself and in my head it was not the same. I started digressing and was surely heading for trouble. I had to step away. I honestly think the kicker was when a friend caught a ban then I heard Will got perma banned. I needed to stop or join them both. Sometimes I cannot control my temper and with things the way they were in my life at that time I was letting it rule me.

Eventually I will be 100% back and honery as ever.

Hey, WTF?! How come you weren't in the cookoff thread? I saw it a day after the submission deadline or I would have entered the Open category. I take pics of a lot of the things I cook for some strange reason. But I was really surprised to not see your name. You being modest again?

That freakin' Zach really blew me away!!! Holy shit!!!! If I was in that category I would just concede.

 

I was so busy at home with different cooks for others I just passed. Got a new recipe I am working on and will send ya.

 

I hear/feel ya Brother! I know that drill. I have yet to make the damn pork belly but trust me I will. Cool! I look forward to getting it and trying it!

In an attempt to better my health I tried that Beyond Burger the other night. We don't eat burgers often but when we do it is always a blend of flat iron, brisket, and short-rib from American Black Angus Beef. La Frieda is the brand I buy here. I cooked them identically side by side. I preferred the Beyond Burger taste. The wife said it tastes a little like scrapple. Must be why I liked it. I'm going to try the sausage next. I can't give up the taste of meat but I can try to make what we eat healthier. I am also gonna start back up on my smoothies as meal supplements. Something has to change Brother.

 

I have been doing ok with mine. You should start eating more wild game meat.

You're right. I need to eat less processed carb enriched foods. It's so hard though. I love all that stuff so much. Rice, pasta, bread, potatoes. I also love high sugar fruits like cherries, banana's and peaches, pears, plums, mellons. Little by little though I am gonna convert. I have to. I will just have to be a healthy eater.
