    I got 34k on mine lol. Went with simple slotted and green ebc pads. A little dustier but stop a heavy truck better

    I bed in the new pads good and the 27$ pads I got have good grab surprisingly. No green stuff I'm sure. We'll see how they fair. Will do rotors soon if we keep the truck. :fingerscrossed:

    Jen is team anti manual. Makes me angry inside. Don't blame her though. The truck was going to go, she was gonna get a exploder, and i was gonna trade the fiesta for a fiesta st because the numbers worked out well that way. Can get a 30k or under mile 2016 st for around 15 or less here...

    I'd be lying if I said I hadn't noticed a little of that in previous oil changes, but I guess it wasn't enough for me to worry about. :oops:

    Just heard a tick at idle that sounded much louder than it ever had been, and decided to pay more attention this time.

    Don't think there's anything in particular that caused it - it's just a 290k mile engine. If anything maybe dust and dirt contamination. Was surprised with how much is in the intake after the filter. :notsure:

    Larger tires do make it harder to reach top RPMs, not impossible but takes longer than smaller/lighter tires would. Especially true on stock gearing.

    I think I've only hit actual red line in 4lo. Otherwise it shifts before then.

    I gotta say the color of your oil was..very concerning. Like oil pan gasket or a main seal issue.

    I do think it's harder to hit redline in an auto. But I think for this discussion it is more about the weight of the vehicle and the weight of the tires. With those two factors it just takes longer to reach redline. Maybe longer than what feels comfortable to hold that high of an RPM for that long. Especially if the real gain is minimal. It's not just about holding your foot to the floor.

    As Monte says, it's easy to hit 5500 in 4lo but that's because of gearing. 4hi and 2hi different story.
