I know. I have posted it on other threads but yet people still post about "sluggishness". It looks like you get it.....

that's just the supercharger, doesn't mean there's a tune or a fit kit or anything else that's actually going to support bolting that onto the side of a third gen. I mean you could try but good luck.

As an owner of many Toyotas over decades I can assure you that this is not a third gen issue, it's a TOYOTA issue.

No offense my friend, but coming onto a Toyota forum and acting surprised at the lack of power is like going onto a wrangler forum and complaining about the lack of refinement on long highway trips..or about leaky roofs.

What fools people is asshats who own 4.0s (I own two of them) muddying the waters by claiming that 4.0 is more powerful or responsive. My sons 2012 Tacoma is a slug with an Econo car interior and ugly rear wheel arches - I co-signed on it so I consider it half mine. Our 2018 T4R is also a slug.

To make matters worse, you have the morons who pine for the days of the old 20R, 22 R and RE engines....I lost a drag race in my 1979 Toyota Pickup to a fucking VW square back in high school.

With the ECT and S mode engaged, the 3rd gen is generally much more responsive.

Of course you would have to buy all of the other things to go with it. That is a normal process.

There’s even an option for the overland guys who are constantly pissing and moaning about the shitty mpg’s:

I agree. And you can add the many others who claim Tacomas are simply perfect and have nothing wrong.

Still, because these issues are common knowledge on here doesn’t mean they are common knowledge to the wider world. Especially when Toyota is selling 240,000 of these trucks every year.

BTW, the Jeep forums are indeed filled with posts, particularly by first-time buyers, surprised at Wrangler’s interior noise, sloppy on-road handling and poor fuel economy.

IMO, it’s more obvious that Wranglers are noisy and have sloppy handling, than Tacomas have a shitty automatic transmission, weak motor and a compromised driving position. But perhaps it is simply because I am more familiar with Jeeps than Toyotas.

This is my car that has a real supercharger on it. I would never mess up my Tacoma.
