Yeah from what I recall the stealership prices on oil filters were shockingly good, though probably not a convenient as Wally World.

Motorcraft FL-400S are $4 at Walmart and are rated a very good equivalent to the OEM YZZD3 filter

    I can't believe people buy a case of 10 oil filters. That'd last me 10 years :)

    Yeah.
I used to have 2 vehicles that used the same filter and saw more miles, so the cases were a good option. Now I only need to do annual changes (don't hit the mileage), and all 4 use different filters. So yeah, a case would last me 10 years! I have some left from the last case I bought, so good for another few on the old 4Runner.

I also thought this thread said 'I pooped in walmart' when I first read the topic, and it made me have to get in here.

I’m doing 30-35K a year and run Mobile 1 synthetic changed out every 10K.

$4.46 - filter (case of ten)
$15.00 - oil (approximation- 5 quart jugs with the rebate, 1/2 of 1 quart)
    $1.00 - crush washer
    __________
    $21.46 total

Transfer station in town takes the used oil.

Re: crush washer- anyone have a source to get them for under $1? Amazon drives me crazy with all the knock off BS...

    Yeah.
Find a seller that includes the crush washers with the filters. I hate having to find them separately.

    Me too. Thanks!

I haven’t been able to find them at the same price or better than the case...

Get the Dorman P/N 65271 12mm copper washers instead. OE sticks to the oil pan, can be a pain if you have a skid plate.

    $1.99 for a pack of 2. I think Dorman also has a 10-pack SKU, but I don't know the P/N. https://www.summitracing.com/int/parts/rnb-65271/overview/

Do they carry the YZZD3 filter now? Last time I went into mine they only had the short filters.

I'm actually not sure, I've heard from others that they do but they didn't at my local autozone either so I got the Mobil1 instead
