I'll echo what others have said - great idea, but the price is about a C note too much for this guy.

Not bad, but I’d like all metal and on the top rail.

Don’t like watching videos. Just reading and looking at pics. Old School.

Looking at the factory panel and looking at HDPE sheets, then looking at my router this would be super easy to make.

Buy HDPE sheet (marine textured one)
Take factory panel and place it on HDPE
Drill holes that match factory panel
    Bolt HDPE to factory panel
Take router with flush trim bit and go around the factory panel
    - Now you have a copy of the factory panel size
Get a slot cutting router bit and go around the HDPE panel to make step down
Clean up edges with sand paper and blow torch

    Install and enjoy

If you have the tools and bits then your in for between $75-$110, if you dont have the bits but have a router add $30-$40 to it. If you dont have any of the tools or bits, just buy it already made.

Damn that's brilliant! I might just do this. I knew I could make it but never really went through all the steps in my head.

Don’t really see the point of the “cupholders”.

What’s patentable about this? Other companies make an aluminum replacement already. And if you’re going to say it’s uniqueness is that it’s made out of some type of plastic, Toyota already beat you to it.

This is a copy, albeit a really nice copy...

This was like watching the movie Titanic. I laughed. I cried. I knew how it would end but I still watched it all the way through.

I like the red. I'm not sure I like it $229 worth. $99? Yeah, sure. I'm not sure I want my "cutting board" in the back of my truck all of the time. Feels like a solution looking for a problem .

"TOO MUCH $" exclaimed the raucous crowd whom collectively spent five times that on non-functional accessories such as TRD Pro grill inserts (remember when these were nearly $400?), TACOMA tailgate sticker inserts, mud tires for the 60 mile round trip highway commute, VOLK wheels (for a tacoma?)...

Ya'll made this bed, lay in it.

It sure would be a nice, convenient place to store straps and bungy cords though.....

I think it’s funny how people are complaining it’s too much money. It’s a business, and they’re here to make a product and turn a profit. No shit you could make it in your garage for cheaper.

I have one, only because I got it for free. Otherwise I’d never spend the coin. Before I had a smooth steel replacement from mobtown and it was great, both accomplish a similar thing. Though this mountain hatch is easier on the knees and lighter as well.
