If you do, depending on timing, I would attend a meetup at Friscos.

    Read this Mason.

    https://expeditionportal.com/forum/...-meter-bad-antenna-bad-cb.201983/post-2579847

Your setup sounds correct so after reading this post, it seems to me that there are only 3 things that could be wrong.
A bad antenna (? how/why now), a bad mic (? how/why now), or a bad swr meter. Especially if this same setup was working for the previous owner.

I have the portable HAM radio too and it can communicate with GMRS radios. Before I bought a FRS type radio I would get a GMRS so I could communicate with both FRS and HAM. Yes, you do need to have a license, but it is not expensive and there is no test involved.

I also have an extended whip for the talkie and a mag mounted rooftop for longer range on the trails. I think CBs are cool AF and would have one too but space is so limited it would have to be just that all-in-one mic style and I would run a 10' whip or a firestick mounted up front on the bumper.

Edit - I still have not transmitted on mine. I am such a fucking slacker. :bananadead:

Yea, and I live 3 miles from the PA line in Harford County so.....

    But.....

Where in Baltimore do you work?

I work at 111 Market Street (tall brick building that takes up the entire block) between Pratt and Lombard. I park at the Harbor Park Garage that used to be the old theaters (now BCCB). The garage is right on the corner of Market and Lombard. We could meet for lunch at Chicken Rico which is on the ground floor of the garage (food is killer and not very expensive). I park up on the 7th level away from everyone so if you found metered parking on the street we could do lunch and then go up and grab the skid from the car or the truck. I would bring the truck that day though so you can see it.

Or if your schedule is tight, we can either meet in the morning (@ 9:30 ish), or evening (@ 6:30 ish), or during lunch (anytime between noon and 2:00). My parking is free, so I could leave the garage mid day and just drop it off to you and then just go back and park.

I'm not cheap, but I am always easy.

    Jerry,
As in FRS? Or as in all in one on the mic?
I might be interested either way.

I work at 707 N. Calvert Street. Lunch time works for me, cuz I work 7:30-4:00. If you were in walking distance i'd say hell yeah to lunch, but idk how i feel about getting street parking during, especially since I try to limit my lunch to 1 hr. I could swing by you and grab it real quick or vise versa, whichever works. Maybe one day next week?

HOLY SHIT! Our old location (one of the two) was literally on the block south of you where the parking garage is!!!!! That Coopers Burgers food truck on Thursdays was the shit! We were there for a long time. The other office location was up next to the art college. I worked at that one but would schedule meetings on Thursdays during lunch LOL. Then we moved to the inner harbor. I fucking hate it.

The name of the company is RK&K.

So basically I am scheduled to be here all next week and the best days are Tuesday - Thursday. Mondays suck and Fridays they push for deadline shit. So I could bring it to you and I should be able to just park somewhere on Calvert St during lunch.

I even have a box to put it in if you want. I'll wash it this weekend so it's clean if you need to take it in the office with you. LOL

I'll PM you my personal info and you can do the same. I'll add you as a contact with all the rest of my TW contacts on my phone.

@AR15xAR10 this is happening next week, during the week Brother.

Hi Jim, I'd be lying if I said great and I don't lie, especially to my friends so........... but, things have definitely been worse so I am not complaining. Thanks for asking. How's things with you. How are the boys? Well, Sons, they are men.

Yea, he PM's me asking about those leafs. I paused since I was taking a break and figured it will happen when we can make it happen. I will double check with him before I grab them though.

Haha thats awesome, I work at SHA I know RK&K does (or has done in the past) a lot of work for us. And thats the garage that I park in!

    Wanna shoot for Wednesday?

And yeah, street parking isn't an issue up this way, a lot of people just park there on Calvert street right outside of that garage. I might actually just park there temporarily to load it up so I don't get weird looks/ questions from our security for walking in with a giant metal skid plate lol

Hmm. $60 if we hand it off in person. A little more to cover shipping if we ship it. Plus, I will throw in the Wilson 1000 mag-mount antenna (in person hand off only).
