Anything welding

Now that’s some tack stacking right thur

 

I consider myself a hobbyist welder that hustles to make a nice side business for myself. Self taught but have learned a lot over the past 5 years. No schooling or certs or anything.

My thought process on “stacking tacks” is this

When welding light sheet metal the process of stitch welding or tacking is used to limit heat input into the metal to prevent warpage or potentially burning through. Limiting heat input into a tube joint, piece of plate, or anything thicker than say 14-16 gauge just never seemed like a good idea to me.

Only one way to know set up a joint and do a tensile test

Do some NDT as well

I see all kinds of interesting and scary things every week.

Then no matter the thickness the heat always needs to be controlled not near as bad today with remotes for just about all processes but some days it would take 20 minutes to get back to the truck to change the output.

 

So, he's being serious, isn't he?

Somehow, I don't seem him dying of natural causes.....

 

Looks like he limited his HAZ enough to not damage the mill scale. Gotta keep that stuff intact.

 

Gotta watch your HAZ extra carefully when you're welding on a wood table....

2 weeks later, finally got all my answers needed to finish this thing. Out of square 1/16" over 12'. Send it to powder coating.

 

Welded up a rack for a clothing company’s warehouse so they can put 4 rolls of bags on the rack and speed up efficiency instead of pulling individual bags out of a box. This is the 16th one I’ve built for them but never posted up a picture of them I don’t think haha

Also finished up my 50th set of sliders on the year this morning. (I know, they all look the same )

 

I’m pretty sure this is all an elaborate ruse where you built one set of sliders and keep posting pictures of them from different angles.

Hahaha I’m going wheeling with 6 other trucks tomorrow and 5 of those 6 trucks have my sliders. Hope none of them break

 

or they all get bent and dinged so you can make news ones for them

 

Hopefully just the truck breaks and you get pics of your sliders as the jack points. That would be some good advertisement.

I’ve been blessed and lucky to get quite a bit of business through TW, word of mouth, and social media. I actually got rid of my Instagram because I was getting too many inquiries that I couldn’t keep up with it. So now I pretty much just get business through here and word of mouth

 

Depth to back wall, self supporting or rigged in place. Backing for uphoulstry, plate placement for pig weights, how big of a access point for delivery to know how many pieces it needed.to be in for delivery and fit in door openings.
I never get all my needed info from the start.
