It is a mid level setup for sure, not as expensive as some of them, definitely more expensive then spacers and AAL, but great quality for sure! Love the adjustable shocks in back

Quick Question for you guys with the Leer180. When you open the rear canopy door does water dump into the bed?
The Snugtop guy in town is touting the rain channel as gods gift to wet beds..

Considering I live in the PNW IE: rain central this may be a consideration.

Love the cap! It's exactly what I want. Well, except in Inferno lol. But excellent choice! Do you mind posting or PM's me what you paid? I have some decent quotes here. I am looking at the Leer 180 and the ARE MX, with the same options as you, but with the added roof tracks so I can add a rack later. My lowest price for the ARE is $2,400 out the door.

My ranch cap acts just like that. Frustrating to be sure. Stupid engineering imo. Never thought to consider this when looking to buy.

If I had my choice I would go Snugtop. Leer, ARE and Snugtop are the 3 major players. Snugtop has some subtle difference I like more. Especially the lines of the mid rise cap. I also hear they address the water dripping off the back window in the rain better than the other two.

I am also looking at getting a midrise cap. Leer, ARE or Snug top. I don't want the contoured back door. Call me old fashioned but I like frames around my doors...
I see a lot of mixed reviews.... seems like everyone either loves or hates their canopy....

A couple questions: How much do these affect you gas mileage and which one can take the heaviest load on the roof rack?

I gather they are all about 40 inches to the top of the shell inside the bed. That's good. But, why are the dealers so secretive about basic information?

My guess is, most dealers are glorified auto parts counter people. Hell, the peeps at Auto Zone have more smarts. No matter which one I talk to none know their shit when it comes to basic information. How hard is it to take a tape measure and measure one the next time someone buys one and write it down for future reference. We can't be the only two guys that want to know how tall they are over top of the bed sides.

If they sold them here I would have one. Still the best lines on a mid rise IMHO! I would have to drive to Ohio. Not happening.

20190530_215145.jpg My snugtop hi-liner with sportsman's has 41" clearance inside (but only 36" at the opening). It seems like my mileage improved slightly to 23 hwy with the topper. Prob took a slight hit when I put the tray on top.
PS all toppers will leak somewhere.
