Anyone have experience with cleaning out a smelly shower drain? Ive tried baking soda/vinegar as well as Zep drain cleaner, even scrubbed down as far as I could with a brush. Ive gotten the smell to go away for a few days but seems to come back. The smell is that typical "sewage" like smell that comes from bacteria build up.
Im trying to come up with a cheap solution to mitigate short-term, Im tearing out and remodeling the entire bathroom in a couple of years.

Is this a shower you don’t use?

Its not unusual for some drains to smell with no water draining out of it regularly. The solution is just to run some water down the drain everyday.
If you use the shower daily and its doing that... you can try a sulfuric acid mixture or just pay a plumber to snake it with a scope.

Makes you wonder what the previous owners did in the shower lol

Use a paint roller sleeve soaked in whatever cleaning solution you are going to use , fits the pipe perfectly usually and allows you to scrub sides of drain pipe

The American Standard Vormax is the best toilet I've ever owned. If the "deposit" is a taco bell blowout it works really well to remove skid marks. If the deposit is a log, it does the better job that the Toto's and Kohlers that I own. When I remodel my bathroom it will be the toilet I use.
