Varies wildly actually, Alberta is cheapest. But prepare for north of 6$ per gal. Now, its a bigger gallon by a bit, and you have currency exchange in your favour. But you'll still find it expeese, unless you're from Cali

My truck..... yeah I don't know if a 39 year old truck (2021) would be able to do that. Interested anyway.

We saw gas prices ranging from 1.30 CAD/L up to 1.90 CAD/L

The 1.30 CAD/L was in the bigger cities....Watson Lake, Whitehorse, ect. The higher (1.80-1.90 CAD/L) was pretty rare and we only saw it like twice....at the random gas station/RV places in the middle of nowhere...and at the Muncho Lake Resort gas station. Really seemed like the "Alaskan Highway" small RV/tourist traps were the ones with the higher gas prices. Get off that route and it seemed to be a bit cheaper.

We didnt track it but going off memory I'd say the average we paid was probably 1.50 CAD/L. Along the Dempster we found Eagle Plains and Fort McPherson had the highest prices and that Tuk and Inuvik were pretty much the same (to each other other...cheaper than EP and the Fort).

of course thatll change depending on time of the year and all that sort of stuff

Would have been interesting to track it i suppose but really we didnt care to much since its not like you could shop around for a lower price lol. Pull up, insert credit card, fill, go.

Everything is in the air obviously, but on average it takes about 7-8 days to cross country in a relaxed mode to make scenic stops, enjoy the scenery etc...

If anyone is going into extreme mode it can be done in 2 days. Took me about 34 hours 2 weeks ago to drive from Edmonton -> Toronto via Chicago. Before that in November of 2018, from Big Sky(MT) -> Toronto via Chicago, took me 29 hours. All solo driving :anonymous:. If it wasn’t for a gear rowing I would gone mad :annoyed:. In an intermediate mode it took me 4 days to get from Toronto -> Calgary via Northern Ontario (oh god, the speed limit of 55mph will drive you mad there, but god damn it’s beautiful there!).

So 14-16 days just to cross country and the rest of the time is there to enjoy western provinces and northern territories.

again, it’s a draft, comments, suggestions and tips are welcome. :hattip:

With your land nav, probably. :)

Alternatively we can swing by my old stomping grounds in AK on the way home.

    Sub a dub dub....

I’ve actually been planning nearly this exact same trip for 2021 as well, and conveniently I’m almost straight across the pond from you. I’ve got two other buddies committed to going with quite a bit of experience.

Very interested pending a time frame (I’m limited on vacation in the middle of summer) so we were planning more on the fringe mid aug to mid sept
