I can hit the redline in 4hi pretty easy in the snow, not so much the dirt, can get close trying to pass campers going up the mountain.

That’s in both my trucks, one with 255’s and the other with 31’s.

 

In a way, that is a whole other discussion. How close is close?

I can't imagine that bouncing off the rev limiter is any good for these motors.

In the heat of the moment am I really at redline or just close.

All though this discussion I had assumed you were referring to your truck and therefore the manual.

I definitely here that. I am at 192K. Means a lot of abuse has occurred already.

 

I’m at 285k on the 99, the last 100k on that truck haven’t been good to it, but so far the worst I’ve had to deal with is a popped front diff.

223k on the 02 but it’s just highway, daily mods the best mod

Just got home from work and the first tools have arrived.

 

Guys/Gals. The wife and I are considering a visit in mid September to Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Park. Fly into Jackson Hole and use it as home base to drive between the two parks. Probably 5-6 days.
Thoughts on the idea of using Jackson as base camp? Crowds that time of year? Other?

 

I wish my 100 would do this but it would rather just keep slowing down unless I shift to 2nd. Not the end of the world but it's be nice if it would work correctly. I haven't looked into it yet.

 

Planning on checking that soon.


That's a bummer. Seems like the Wilkes family is cutting off access to lots of public land in Valley County.

Pretty much how I feel every winter.

They’ll give you something like “better for the ecosystem” or something, atleast that’s what it was when I worked from them.

It’s even better when they shut them down for trucks but leave them open for side by sides and four wheelers...

 

Crowds will be less. Still plenty of people at the main spots but the not a popular ones will be nice. Weather can vary from beautiful to snowing that time of year so keep that in mind.

Jackson is a bit far from Yellowstone so depending on your plans for that West Yellowstone or Gardiner could be better. Even Cooke city. Those towns are way way smaller though so keep that in mind too

Well I want the 18v impact. I'll have to get that. I'll get another 12v battery too so that'll be perfect.

3/8 showed up today. I can already tell I'm going to use the shit out of this thing.
