    I’d also like more info on this. I ended up cross/threading the brass flare during installation. It wasn’t because of not hand tightening first, it was because of torquing the stock fitting at such a weird angle since there isn’t much room to work with under there. I realize, now, the brass union fitting is softer than the threads from the stock fittings. While torquing, I believe it’s important to be slow and patient as to not do what I did.

    However, I’d love to hear more info on you issue as well. I’m going to replace the brass union I messed up. I as well had to re-install the accumulator for now.

    If you wouldn’t mind, can you share the details that you discuss with Trident? The information might help others avoid mistakes or whatever. Btw, a replacement union fitting was only about $3.50 at a local Autozone. So my little mess up was a cheap fix. Thanks goodness!

    I am sending @oconnor a replacement kit. He had one that had legitimate bad flares. His kit was from one of the first batches I made without the coated line and I thought I had QC’d all of them appropriately and I guess his kit slipped through. I am replacing his kit at no cost.

    I leak check all of these kits with rubbing alcohol after I build them with a homemade leak tester I made. I pressurize the line to 100psi with rubbing alcohol in it and if they leak, they get remade or tossed.
