I can tell you how to get a clean weld.
Grind to bright shiney metal. One amp per thousandth of material. Your weld should should sound like bacon frying - a nice sizzle sound.

Definitely get some scrap metal and practice your welds before you start welding on your piece. Your welds should have a silver line on the toes [edges]. Thats the fusion line on the edge of your weld puddle. It means your weld was hot enough to substantially melt the metals together.
You want a balance of penetration and build up, so hot enough where your arc digs in a good 1/16"-1/8" and you have enough wire to fill in the hole you burned.
    It takes messing with.

Make sure you dont weld over liquid or oils at all. itll give you a weak weld filled with porosity [pin holes where the evaporating liquid got trapped in the metal] porosity not only looks unprofessional, its asking for a crack to form.

I hope some of this helps!

Ive seen a lot of ones you can buy .275 or .250 dom tubing.
I personally used 1 1/4 sch 40 pipe. They are heavy!20190622_135044.jpg for mounting feet if you want to use a hi lift on sliders, youll need to use angle on atleast two of the posts.
Mine i thought id be good without and they flex a bit so im going to bolt angle on the inside of the frame. The bolts will go through the slider feet, frame, then angle. As well as a bolt through the bottom of the frame up through the angle - thats where the strength comes from. Toyota frams are only 1/8" thick.

For mounting bolt holes you should do like i did, one in a top and a bottom corner so the frame can flex.

Anything else let me know - ive learned a lot of tricks in a fab shop!

Had a very productive day. Got both diffs in fully mounted. All I’m waiting on are new crush washers and a new passenger side CV seal, which arrive tomorrow. I’ll finish those up, and then only be waiting on new lca bushings to arrive.

I also got out the bushings I managed to fuck up. Just need to repaint them because I managed to fuck it the paint a little from getting so goddamn angry at them and not being gentle.

Pressed in the new king lower bushings, which was a piece of cake and fit perfectly.
