Northern Virginia Roll Call

I feel your pain. It's been pushing 90-100 degrees and ridiculously high humidity for the last couple of weeks here in AR. It's going to be a rainy few days this week with TS Barry rolling past. I'm SE of the last 's' in Arkansas near that little cluster if storms.

 

I hope next Saturday is better...

Thinking about installing my SSO stage 2 Saturday the 21st anyone have a place to do it?

 

Does your garage have a window? If so, throw a window AC unit in it. It makes one hell of a difference.

 

It doesn’t, but that’s a good tip if I ever have a garage with one in the future. For now I use a box fan and it makes a surprising difference

Best thing I did was put ceiling fans in my garage. I tried for the window cooler, but wifey said no. Tacoma doesn't fit anyway so the door would have to stay open. Oh well.

 

Woke up today at 7:00 AM because one of my neighbors was mowing his lawn.

Fell back asleep.

Woke up again at 8:30 AM because my other neighbor also decided to mow his lawn.


Leave it to retired people to wake up early on a Sunday morning specifically to mow their lawns for an unnecessarily long amount of time.

 

Explored Peters Mill Run today with @Usroadscholar and one of my neighbors. Lots of rocks and a bit more technical than the reviews would lead you to believe. Definitely a fun day.

Just found out Virginia forces sales tax on all eBay purchases since July 1st. Super lame. I wonder if it's all online sales...?

 

I know sales tax used to be required for any company with a physical location in Virginia. It may have changed recently though. Is it all purchases on ebay?

 

That's what the footnote made it seem like. I know there was a supreme Court ruling last year that allowed states to collect on online sales even from companies that don't have a physical presence in the state. This tax payment was approx $15 and went to an eBay account for payment to the state.

 

Oh wow. I just bought something and didn't even catch it. Sure enough I was charged sales tax and seller is in PA.
