Thoughts and opinions on THIRD BREAK LIGHT set-up

Also, I found a ton of crap that I bough in the past and I forgot. Since I just PCS again found this...



I was planning on using it. If I only need 1 relay I’ll leave the other two open in case I go OEM like you proposed earlier...

Yes, I understand, the MINI I will hide; but my question on the diagram is -

The diagram shows that 1 leg of the SPDT and 87a of the relay will be “Parallel to room lamp switch” - so my question is if that goes to the back of the room lamp switch as shown below

 

Well, yeah completely admit it - but I bought that kit 6 years ago, put it away, and completely forgot - so... it’s kinda there.

 

yes...have you ID'd the holes (+) & (-)? And I hope the "that" are the ring terminals, not the relay...

 

Not yet, once they are properly id the + terminal on back of room lamp switch goes to red (+) wire(s) on KC Cyclone red lights and the other terminal (-) goes to the SDTP and 87a on the relay, yes??

This is NOT necessarily the correct polarity - it’s just for illustration purposes

Yes. But for now, Red KC red wire to Blue and Black to white with black stripe

 

Oh I SEE - I’m mixing TWO DIFFERENT solutions - never mind.

 

So in the overhead liner I’m gonna find that the wire that goes to the room lamp switch is going to have two leads, a blue one and a white with a black stripe one, correct?

Just tap as indicated above.

 

No...3 wires, you won't be using them at all.

 

Silver is Negative, Copper like is positive, found an old pic in me PC.

Ok, so BLUE and WHITE w/BLACK STRIPE it is. Tap directly into wires - or go the ring terminal and nut on the back of room lamp?

 

Ring terminal, bolt washer n nut. Don't mess with wires. 22 gauge...

 

If you tap the white with black runner you miss the switch function. (door-off-on)

 

Ring terminal and wires directly to those two points it is then.



+ to KC red wires and - to KC black wires?

Got it! The KC RED THIRD BREAK LIGHT I can just tap directly to the wire and OEM connector behind the OEM housing then, correct?

If these were available, you'd bolt them in then use female terminal for removal if the was needed...
