I am thankful the 3G Tacoma takes no styling cues from Lexus

Someone In Japan in the design dept. said I'm sick of hearing about overheating! I'm gonna stop all this BS. Just kidding.

My rx350 F and the Taco sport are nothing alike even if they both have 3.5 engines.
The lexus is smooth from any rpm and in any gear. The taco sorta chugs , you can feel it. If you go to S mode and increase RPM it sorta surges as it moves faster.
The Lexus is better than the Cadillac SUVs I've owned (3.6 engine). If you can live with the ugly grille it's close to the best vehicle I can think of for $62k. It took a while to get use to the mouse controls. But to agree with you , the grille is HUGE !

Agreed. I'm not sure if I'm just adjusting to it or not, but it has grown on me at least on the sedans.

It’s interesting to see what even a little grille reduction does to this vehicle. Can’t really say I like it better or worse.

I realize, looking at that ridiculous GMC front end, that the whole concept of the pickup truck has gone off the rails. Not much you can do about it.....but damn......pickup trucks are getting very “precious”. In the year 2019, if you’re a honest, hard-working, practical man, you should probably drive a fuckin’ sedan. That’s an honourable choice these days.

Is that a Tempo? I had one for 7-8 months in the ‘90s. The most boring car I’ve ever had. To the OPs point, yeah, I’m not sure why all the Lexus cars need to have variations on the same grill theme; maybe it looks cool in multi-car ads, but I think it suits the sedans and coupes better.

Hahaha, nice. And here we are complaining about the uniform Lexus look (me too).

After that nostalgia, I’ll take the new Lexus anything!
Edit: the top one is a Ford Tempo pic from WikiP.

This is so true. I actually enjoy going to the Lexus dealer for service. Donuts, coffee, fancy chocolates. They wash it vacuum it and don’t over charge for basis parts. One day my wife is going to find out why I don’t complain about taking her car in. Lol

The rest of the vehicle looks like it serves only to function as a life support system for a grille.
