So I have a sloppy shifting tacoma with a trd supercharger. I got my blower on almost right after getting the taco (an ' 09 ). Well after having the taco for a year out comes the tranny shifting tsb. I try to get it applied and the taco wont take the tsb because it has a special toyota tune for the blower and isnt compatible with the TSB...I walk away frustrated thinking oh well. Well now i come to find out that the pedal recall has the improved shifting included in its software failsafe's...I got to the dealer, they cut my pedal.....call me and tell me that the recall program wont take to my car because of the TRD supercharger. Now i have to wait for toyota to get with the program. Toyota if you're listening get your f'n act togethor. Don't sell overpriced blowers under your name if you can't even apply a safety recall to it. I am waiting as this is something that should be remedied fast.

I can understand wanting the trans shifting flash, but why would you want the brake/fuel pedal flash?

Its the only way i can get the trans shifting flash. It forces toyota to actually make it work for my truck because they already performed part of the recall by hacking up my gas pbedal. I was hesitant about the failsafe because I thought it kept you from braking and hitting gas the same time but that was incorrect. Only if you're going like over 5mph and giving more than 30% throttle will it kick in. So in that sense it wont affect any offroading done. I have alot more "power" in this situation because its a recall. If I was fighting for the tsb issue they would just say " your taco is already working fine because of the trd supercharger tune so we wont give you a shifting tsb compatible with your setup "

I heard the same thing thus why I did not have the recall applied to my truck. The shifting is an annoyance but not so much for me to sell the truck. I love the supercharger and the power.

I do too but I honestly believe that the way this transmission shifts under this kind of power it wont last long. Shifts that drag clutches like this are just eating it apart. I have full federal backing on this issue and it will be resolved. I can't imagine the kind of crap toyota would get if contacted the media and told them toyota can't do my recall because of their own warranted performance parts.

It is my understanding you can get a new (old) computer, do the transmission reflash, then do the SC reflash and have both. I dont think you can do the SC reflash then the transmission reflash. You should get Toyota to get you an old computer and have the SC reflash done on thier dime... its their fault that they dont make the transmission reflash work after the SC reflash. Start with no reflashes, do the transmission TSB reflash then TIS # 3YWG1100 reflash... that is my understanding.

I called toyota and explained the situation to them. I got a case number and they said they will get back to me within two days as the person i talked to needs to speak to higher ups. She had this misconception that i put my own "tune" on the truck with the trd supercharger. I had to explain that toyota has the dealership put its own tune in and after that it locks out all updates/recalls.

Update...supposed to get back to me in 2x days. I called back and she told me that she had to go higher up and get more info and that she'll get back to me...oh what do you know supposed to be today. I'll call tomorrow again =). Yes the recall flash should contain the shifting tsb in it. The members that had the tranny tsb done and later the recall said they felt no difference. Yet the people that didnt have the tranny tsb said that after the recall their tranny is shifting alot better. The trd supercharged taco really needs that cleaned up shifting. It gets so sloppy that sometimes it wont get out of the gear and downshift unless you go full throttle. I shouldn't have to look like i'm racing 24x7 to be able to drive the truck. I'll keep this updated
