Hey guys! Figured this is the place to post a question Montana related. We're visiting Vancouver island and driving back through WA to MT to a final resting place of Flathead Lake to camp for a few nights. What are some must do/see things around there? We'll be camping at Westshore. Thanks in advance, furthest I've been into MT before is Sweet Grass lol.

Are the cherries ripe along the eastern shore of the lake? Worth a stop at a roadside stand if they are :)

I will put it on my calendar. Best part of the trail description. “Remember, for the first 5.6 miles, you will be on Montana State Prison property and should not stop unless it is an emergency.”

My ARB fridge took a crap on me, I'm in red Lodge and will turn around to Billings to look for a replacement,
    Any suggestions or help
I'll look for another ARB or a Dometric fridge. Only have room for a 50qt.

There’s about 4 places here it looks like. Have t been to any of them myself though. If you need a temp fix, and those don’t have what you’re looking for, Scheels Sporting Goods is our biggest sporting goods store and would have the gambit of stuff.

No worries. Probably best to call the shops.. Unless it’s your typical chain store stock or fishing/hunting gear, you typically have to order stuff.

There's lots of national forest up by Polebridge, in the northern part of the park. It's all great for camping and totally free, plus leads to awesome exploring.

Man, tough crowd from the MT locals. :D

I was not part of the first AK/YK season so I can’t directly comment there, I have been involved since we covered Central America, McKenzie Trail, South America, Greenland and Aus trips. I’m not involved in the production side of things, I know I have zero talents there so I can’t always explain production choices nor take credit for the times folks are pleased.

It’s almost like we had to find a way to monetize (sponsors) the free YouTube shows :D The early season(s) were funded by Clay and fam whom were personally struggling as some film industry jobs had crashed as much of the economy was struggling during that period. Sponsors have and are willing to make the show happen but naturally deserve something in return and that is use, discussion and spotlight of their product. It’s not always ideal, but it’s the only model that keeps the show moving forward and we do work with top shelf companies.

Can you cite the episode you’re referring to? I’m assuming you’re referring to some of the first episodes nearly a decade ago? I wasn’t part of the group early on but all I can say is everyone starts someplace and the only thing worst than going out inexperienced... is staying at home until you’re ready ;)

Clay (the founder) makes no secret that is exactly how the show kicked off, in fact you’ll find content on the YouTube channel explaining just that. He was an out of work in the cinematography industry as the economy was on the struggle bus. He had a couple Toyota 4x4’s and a few friends looking for an adventure. It’s since morphed into a much bigger thing and a full time job for up to a half dozen people.

Can you share what parts you consider fake drama? Perhaps I can offer some perspective on specific instances?
