What's With Front End Damage?

I'm a Taco 1st genner. I've owned Toyota trucks since 1980. I'm considering buying a 3rd gen to get a little more power for pulling a travel trailer around the US. But I've noticed there's many 3rd gens on CL for sale with front end damage. And some on other sources that show CARFAX with the same. What's up with this? Is there a problem with the brakes? Do 3rd gen drivers tailgate more than others? I've scanned the sources but haven't found any brake recalls. Any ideas?

I dunno, seems like a great question for the people who actually damaged the trucks

 

Compared to another truck built the same year, that sells about the same amount of units per year?
There's a huge volume, and a huge demand.

 

Yes, there are more tacoma’s out there than any other midsize truck so there will be more of what you’re seeing.

You’ll find the same front end damage on any vehicle you choose to look up...it’s not the vehicle it’s the shitty drivers not paying attention to the task at hand.

 

I'm surprised no one has yet blamed it on not being to see over the hood scoop.

 

Way more Tacos & way more kids with nice toys (Tacos) these days..
