Can you post the solution here too instead of PM just incase anyone else has this issue?

 

Also interested to see what you did. My actuator bar was also too short and won’t lock the tailgate. Seems to be a common problem.

I know it's been uploaded on here before but with this thread growing I have no issues posting it again. With the rod being made of stainless, you are able to bend it back and forth a few times without any issues. Here are the exact measurements you need for your rod to work...

Katie/anybody, How and where do I get installation instructions, there were no instructions in the kit, I have not found any pertaining to the 3rd gen trucks, everything I have read refers to plugging the long wire to the driver side front door, the passenger side door and all cite a different color wire to splice in to, which is correct? I need help.

UPDATE:

Ok Everyone!! I have finally finished getting the Tacoma Power Folding Mirrors all Shipped thang can be Shipped at the moment. The only thing I have left to do is send them the Installation Instructions. However, between doing that, I will be getting updating the Tailgate Lock List and the Tailgate Opener List. I’ve been trying to respond to a lot of you through PMs the last few days. I haven’t made it through all of my PMs but I have made it through A LOT! I appreciate your patients.

Just a heads up on some other projects in the mix for future releases to think about:

1. 120V AC Outlet in Cab and 400W Anytime PNP Harness
2. Driver-N-Passenger Door Smart Handle PNP Harness

I received a status report that the Integrated Harnesses for the Tailgate Opener is scheduled to be completed next week and then they will be shipped out to me. Looks like that will soon be able to be released and I will be able to start shipping those kits out.

Vendor is sending me samples of the connectors that are needed for the Inverter for my PNP Harness so if everything works out and it matches, I will be creating a new thread soon for the In Cab 120V AC Official Pre-Order List. Which I already have over 100 members on that list now as I wanted to have at least 100 before I committed to that PNP Harness.

Anyways....just a few updates with what’s been happening. Oh yeah, plus working everyday.

 

You do good work for us all. Have I missed the thread for the smart handle PNP? Is it adding the same handle used on the driver's side to passenger's for the futuristic lock/unlock support with the fob?

 

Yes having the smart handle on the passengers side.
@Victory was the first to do this.

It should be only the harness part that @KTJO 4x4 is selling. Everything else is up to you.

@Victory makes it so you can use the Smart Handle by changing the Head Unit to All Door Unlock Feature. I’m going one step further and adding onto that to allow you to not have to change your head unit anymore. I will also make it so that you will be able to make it so your drivers door is connected to your front passenger door. Why would you want this you might ask?

Well for starters, you won’t have to switch you head unit like I mentioned. When you use your key fob and click it one time, it will unlock both front doors but nothing else. Click it twice and it will unlock the rest of the doors and tailgate. Just like if you touch the drivers side Smart handle, it would unlock both front doors but nothing else or if you touch the Front Passenger Smart Handle, it would unlock both front doors but nothing else. @CAG Gonzo

Side note to other Canadians, since it was shipped to Canada I had to pay $27 extra in taxes and duties.

Finished the install Yesterday. Pretty straight forward, but the the install write up was very much appreciated to double check I was doing things right.
I decided to take a step out of some of the the Pop n' Lock installs and drilled a 3/8 hole in the plastic brackets at the tailgate rather than making a new hole in the body or removing the bracket all together. Worked out quite well I think .
