Jen finally has the weekend off next weekend. We're headed to Stanislaus National Forest. Who else is looking for some out of the valley therapy?

 

Were you on 108 today? I went over to Bodie and was coming back over the pass towards home and thought I saw your truck. Or what look like your truck without a rack?

Anybody know of a good machine shop in Sonora that can rebuild the heads on my old VW?

Got back from Bodie Ghost Town yesterday, pretty cool place. The back way in is pretty easy but we took a turn off the road and crested 2 peaks at about 9600’ feet, one descent was very technical sandwiched between sidewall cutting rocks and barbed fence.

 

I saw you right at 2pm on 108, really quickly on a turn as I was coming down

 

Was I moving or parked?

edit: Now that I think about it. 2pm I was still going up. So I was moving.

 

Yeah you were coming up and we passed really fast

 

Looking for opinions on driver vs passenger side for an 8ft awning. I'm leaning toward driver since my fridge will be on that side, but wondering if there might be a reason to put it on the passenger side that I'm not thinking of.

 

If you ever need to park off the side of the road for a repair or anything related to parking on roadways...

Haven't been to Bodie since I was about 8, maybe 10 years old. I have always wanted to go back. My dad was fond of that part of California. He grew up in Bishop.

 

Fun trip, you can camp so many great places, and there’s a ton of old abandoned mines as well. This one mineshaft had 60 degree cold air blowing out of it like an A/C, felt great on a hot day

 

You need to go back over there. I love the eastern side of the sierras.

 

Got my bumper on with the winch. It was a heavy lift by myself. But it’s done.
