How thick of matress topper do you think will fit and have it still fold up fine? 2 inch? 1 inch?

I was looking at a used one that the owner decided not to sell. She had replaced the mattress entirely with an Exped MegaMat Duo 10+. Not a cheap option, but that thing looks comfy as all hell...4" thick self inflating memory foam mattress.

I have heard great things about those mattresses. I would love to get one and keep waiting for them to go on sale. :anonymous:

My biggest concern there would be protecting it from dirt, ripping/tearing, etc. It's a cheap option and may work, if it folds well, but I really can't say off the top of my head. When I get a chance this evening I'll go measure the distance between the two folded halves of the platform when it's in transport, that'll give you some idea of how thick you want to go.

Would defiantly need to cover it some how. let me know how much room there is to work with so I can gather some ideas now.

I actually have a Lucid brand bed from Amazon and its amazing. So I know its a reputable brand.

Ya that happened Saturday Night, crossed the center line, took out 3 other vehicles, did not hear about dui, or hitting cops.

I went with a 3inch memory foam mattress topper that was on clearance. It fits fine. Definitely snug to close up but works without issue and is much more comfortable. Haven’t don’t anything else to the tent and have been happy the few times I used it.

Curiosity and free time took hold...

8-3/8" at the hinge, so in theory, if it folds well enough, that could work.

Yeah the only issue is the Smittybilt mattress is an odd size. It’s wider and shorter than the standard queen.

It's close to a full, slightly wider and longer. It's not as wide as a queen but still longer.

The Smittybilt is 92"x55", a Full is 75"x54" and a Queen is 80"x60"

Apparently, he was still in Westfield. He finally turned on his phone and called his fiancé and there was a mad dash to go get him. Apparently, his intention was not to come out of the woods under his own power so we’re incredibly happy to have him safe and getting the help he needs.

We went to NH to camp and search all the trailheads up there so (he loves the White Mtns) once we got word he was OK, we shut off the devices and actually enjoyed the weekend.

Also, a word of caution to those using memory foam in campers, they act like heat sinks and can create a lot of condensation (leading to mold). You have to make sure to keep them very well ventilated.
