I've got a tig fucker just like it... it's pretty damn smooth for being a simple transformer machine. And the HF will reset my tv.

Some work from my shock relocation this weekend. Really happy with my MIG progress. I feel if I wasn't in such a rush I could have made them look better, but still happy.

    And the relocation overall:

I also did stick work in the back before this:

And flat I feel comfortable and confident.. but vertical, I was doing terrible. Was doing vertical down with 6013 and kept blowing through, had better luck on 7014 for this:

But the beads kept getting a worm hole or two. So I kept doing another bead on each side of the first bead to increase strength. In the end it looks like shit. After this failure I decided to wait till I got to my buddies shop and hit the other two sides with MIG to be safe.

I may be off base here, and someone correct me if my worry is unsubstantiated, but I would want to add some reinforcement to that bar. I worry that with a hard enough hit, it would rotate up and back, since most of the force is on that one weld holding the tube to the frame. I'd add some gussets on each side, personally.

If it was only relying on those two first welds I think I would agree, but its welded inside the frame, and to those outside frame supports. I don't think anything will make that twist off TBH.

    That plate you see:

    Is essentially that.

Frame is 100% boxed with 3/16. But I do see what you guys mean.

    I did exactly this.

So basically you are saying the actual mount welds would need to fail before the tube would rotate, correct? I’d have to agree if so.

Your worries are justified, but remember, the shock will collapse long before that weld breaks.

If the shock bottomed out before the bump stops contacted, then that weld would be subject to failure.

Bruh I live for the hours lol don’t gotta school me on this. I’ve been on the road on and off as well. Just need to get serious and get committed rather than dabbling in and out of it.

Haven't been on in a while, probably because it took me so long to cut all of this with an angle grinder. I forgot to borrow the plasma cutter from work and figured what the heck. Anyway, my aluminum mid skid got bent enough to flatten the bottom of my y-pipe a little so I replaced it with this. 3/16" plate doubled up to 3/8" in the areas that bent on the aluminum skid, the vertical end rails and in front of the crossmember.

Ah your wording made it seem aggressive lol. 5k hours. He declined my offer and came back at 6,500 but I’m gonna stick to 5k as this west Texas oil rush will slow down eventually and all the machines will go back to being cheap again
