I've always had an eye for anything toyota and have been wanting to pick something like this up one day. Well it just happened to fall in my lap. I started browsing CL and OfferUp for LS400s after and I was kinda surprised at how many are available, some with minor repairs and some needing more involved repairs and or replacement of the engine and transmission. All for reasonable prices too. I feel that will change in the next few years as they slowly start to disappear and parts become harder and harder to find in decent shape. Just like how early 80's toyota 4x4 trucks these days are selling at prices twice what I used to be able to buy them for 12-15yrs ago. Most that are left have been beat and abused or are rusting away, and very few do I see are in fair shape and unmolested.

My wife hates the look of 911s for some reason, especially the 966's headlights :(

She does like the C7 vette, so there is hope in the future for one or a C6 z06.

    Too late, lived there 2005-2009.

Also, Phoenix had the hottest market in the nation at one point in time. Columbus, OH and Tampa, FL are also hot markets as well. :notsure:

Damnit, I should have known even tho I didn't pay the luxury price for the Lexus, my insurance is gonna charge me the luxury of owning one. $1200 a year for full coverage:annoyed:. That's $80 more a year than I pay for full coverage on my Tacoma which is 15yrs newer! 3 fully covered vehicles and a home owners policy through the same company. Guess I need to get some competitive quotes.

Dude, why are you getting full coverage on a 25 year old car you got for free?

well liability was still $900/yr. Im not sure what my insurance is valuing it at either. I haven't even looked kbb on it myself. The way I see it, if a tree or something falls on it while it's just parked at my house, I'll have that in my pocket. Basically anything over a year and nothing catastrophic happens I'll drop it down to just liability. At $25 more a month it seemed better just to go with the full coverage. :notsure:

I'll think it over some more and maybe drop it down to liability at the end of work today. They haven't charged me the premium yet, either way 8hrs isn't going to break me.

Well some good news, it's only $50 for a new master key from the dealership. I was expecting over $100, but since it's not a transponder key and they didnt have the immobilizer technology in 1991, that makes it easier and cheaper to get a new master cut based off of the VIN.

I feel like I need to put on a suit to walk into Lexus of Bellevue. They probably don't see much folk like me walk through their door, unless they gotta use the bathroom.

And that's just Lexus, which in Bellevue is like the equivalent to a Hyundai dealership up here in Everett. Last time I was down there I drove past the Lamborghini and Bentley dealerships only to turn the corner and see the Aston Martin dealership across the street. It was at that moment I realized that I did not belong there and better get my ass out of there before someone figured it out.

I love watching people gawk at my truck when it comes out of the bay and sits in the waiting area. Also snag as many cookies and cups of coffee as you can.
