Bad idea. Watered down latex will cover extremely shittily, and you'll need to refill that 1qt container a bajillion times to do even a small area.

We have the cheap stain sprayer. Has worked well for our fence. It eats up a lot of stain though in general with the atomizing though

Bought one of these 12 volt water transfer pumps last week. I wanted a 12v one as it was needed to clean my buddies boat. We spray deluged bleach on the pontoons carpets, then power wash it off. He decided to launch it real early this year before cleaning it, now we needed to figure out how to do the job.....no power at the dock and its across the street so can't run a hose or extension cord.
So 12v option we could hook up to the boats batteries, and use my gas pressure washer. The pressure washer has a flow rate of 2.6gpm, and the pump is 290gph= 4.8gpm(over 2gpm then the pressure washer can use).

The pump moves nowhere near the advertised amount of water. I could not get full power out of the pressure washer as it just didn't have the flow needed. It did the job in the end, just way slower and not the full job I really wanted, but the boat is clean.

After we were done, we cut off the quick connect wires and hard wired it to the boat. The pontoon is a 2 story and has a water slide off the roof. The pump for the slide has stopped working so we are using this as the replacement. For that job much less water flow is needed so all good.

The stain I'm using has a range of coverage of 150-400 sq ft. I went with a thought of 200-250 for my expected calculations. Raw wood, and how efficient the gun will be. If it works better, I can always return the extra stain.

There is a HR app you can download to your phone. Has all the up to date coupons. I would check there or the website that someone posted above.
